Need info about Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza

Postby jstanard » Tue May 21, 2002 9:17 pm

Can anyone tell me who to contact about getting a booth at the MS Wildlife Extravaganza in August?

Is anyone planning on entering the duck calling competition that weekend? I've thought about it, but I don't know if I have the guts to chance making a fool out of myself (not to mention that I know almost nothing about the comps in general).

What about the Mississippi Fish and Wildlife Expo in Hattiesburg? Has anybody attended it? I've never been, so any information about this event would be helpful. I'd especially like to know how well attended it is.

Thanks.

I worked a booth about a year ago, the crowd was pretty sparce. Most of them all wanted deer hunting stuff. I was selling duck calls also, and lets just say we ate at McDonalds that night.

Pintail
I agree that most are there for the deer but we still need to keep a foot in the door for the ducks. jstanard I have some contacts I will try to find out for you and email you what I find.

It is a good outing and you will get several people to stop and view your booth. Presentation is everything and if your wanting to draw people you have to make a show that their all interested in. (even the deer people).
I have worked booths and it is all how you present the message or product that you are selling.

I got this info about a booth a few years ago. It may not be current, but it'll give you a start. Call Becky Traweek at 601-353-6922. At that time she was in charge of booths/advertisement

Thanks for the replies everybody.

It looks like I asked too late. Now I'll have to reserve a booth for next year's extravaganza.

Well, if I won't be working a booth, then I'll be free to try the competition right? Dang, I get nervous just typing that.
