Nope, not gonna happen. I've never hunted public land and don't plan on ever doing so.......don't have the temperment to put up with the crap that goes on in these places over a friggin' duck.

I'm in the same boat as you, but in a way I'm kinda glad the sucker is dry. This is the first year in history of this club that this brake dried up. I've been in it since monday, cutting out the buckbrush that had taken over my potholes plus cutting out the trails that was much needed. The buckbrush had basically taken this brake over since it's usually 4-6ft deep year around to where you can't do any maintenance work.

Well, let's look at it this way. Ducks light on dry ground all the time in canada and throughout the cornbelt.......why can't they just carry that feeding attrition over to the dry south? :lol:

They will feed in dry fields down here just as they do when it starts to freeze up. You just have to find a field that they are using, since without water there is not quite the lure. Put that layout blind to work and do your howework, some darn good hunts can be had on dry fields. Heck, you could get permission anywhere to shoot sky carp on a dry field! Good luck and I hope you get to shoot at a few, I'll be up here in TN, wouldn't want to get called out for being an OOS hunter :lol:

hey man, i gotta line on a sewage treatment plant down here.........well, just outside of canton, which is better for you anyhow......man, you talking about some "birds" sittin on that thing....
