Love my Browning Gold. A little heavy but deadly. Can't argue the the quality of Beretta or Benelli. To each his own.

I have had a Benelli SBE for 4 years. Never jamed, never locked up, shoots 3 1/2s as well as 2 3/4's Won't shoot the cheap cheap Wal-mart loads for Doves. Just not enough powder to make the gun cycle. Is an excellent article on the inertial recoil system that Beneli uses. in this issue of American Rifleman. Read that. Is so damn simple makes you wonder why all other guns don't use it too. Hardly any moving parts to it. I had a friend that had an older model and he has had some problems that have never occrured for me. I love mine and was always a browning fan before. Have a berretta too, but for the muck and grime then pick it up and shoot, can't beat that Benelli.

Benelli all the way. If you enjoy cleaning a gun, then the gas operated systems are ok. I only break my benelli down once a year to clean. I usually spray a little rem oil in it once a week or so. Had it for 5 yrs. and it has never jammed. The gas operated guns have too many moving parts for me to keep clean. All of my buddys had browning golds when I bought my SBE, they all have SBEs now.

I still love to shoot my O/U, though. They just seem to fit and swing better.

I have owned all 3, including 390/391/Xtrema I. I have not messed with the XtremaII or SBEII. I traded my SBE1, and won't let another one near me. Never had a lick of trouble with the Beretta. I have broken a firing pin in my BGH, after 40K rounds and a couple of baths. My BGH spent 10 hours under saltwater in Katrina, and is still charging like a Rhino. Either one is a great gun.

My Perazzi MX8B isn't a conventional duck gun, but it doesn't have "waterfowl widowmaker" engraved on it for nothing. I'll shoot anyone under the table
Don't you know December is french for "no ducks"

My Perazzi did not fare well in the Hurricane Katrina flood. I think it is the barrels being cold blacked and not blued.
