Need MSU football update

Hey gang, I need some MSU football 2002-3 info. I have been getting mixed info from the home folks in Clinton (Ole Miss fans) and need some reliable scoops. If anyone gets out to New Braunfels, Tx. let me know. It has got the best rated waterpark in the world, rivers, etc. I found my new honey hole too, 440 acre public lake that was covered up! in ducks this year. I am 30 miles east of San Antone. Nobody duck hunts here!!!! paradise is found....locals near the lake say that 2 Guadalupe River Authority men hunt ducks there and that is it. Sorry to hear about ole Benny gettin cut, but completely understand the reason.

For MSU sports scoop, try Gene Swindoll's web site called Gene's Page. You can get all the dog poop you can handle there. If not, there are dozens of other sites that include information about SEC sports(including MSU) and allow fans of each school to rip each other to their heart's content, if that is your game.

This, thankfully, is a duck hunting board, where many of us would prefer not to have the UM v MSU , UM v anyone, MSU v anyone dialog. There is no such thing as an MSU duckhunter, Ole Miss duckhunter, etc. Just gentlemen who love the sporting pursuit of these noble creatures--sportsmen who love talking about it and sharing information, tips, etc.

Is there a university in Starkville, MS???? Come to think of it I went through starkville the other day and I do think I saw sign that said something about a university, go figure....... Seriously I think msu will have a good year in football, because now they do have a quarterback and they have not had one in 3 years. It looks like you are living in TX and you might want to consider getting a subscription to the clarion-ledger, pretty much all they put in that paper is things about MSU &OLE MISS, just a thought.

HEY there tigermania you are exaclty right on the quarterback issue. I got so pissed last year when ya'll were stomping out butts about 40 points and madkin came off the field grinning. Even the guys from espn made a comment about it. All I have too say about bama is THANK ya'll and turf toe for giving us a Quarterback that helped out alot before we went winnless the rest of the year!!!!! Yup.

I'll take a butt whipping if it will finally get Fant in the game.

I hated to see it on ESPN, but I can't blame Madkin for grinning. ALL of the receivers were so pitiful in that game (and actually all of the ones leading up to it) that it was comical in a bad news bears sort of way.

I hope this year's team takes competition seriously.

Can't blame Madkin for last year's mess up, it was the receivers. They would intentionally drop passes from madkin, then catch Fant's. Well, here's my first MSU football season prognastication, Fant will fall flat on his face within the first 3 games, and Kyle York will replace him.

I don't know, Fant looked pretty good and he has GC's blessing. Who is Kyle York!

Another question, did Fant get drafted or picked up by any pro team? WHat about the dynamic duo?

MSU fans will find out who Kyle York is when Fant starts screwing up, and it's gonna happen. He's a redshirt freshman from texas who will see some PT this season. From talking with other players, they are saying that he will be the real deal when it comes time for him to start.

I assume you mean Madkin picked up by a pro team? Not yet, but Dorsett Davis was drafted, Dicenzo Miller, Tommy Watson, and Pig Prather were signed as free agents.

I'm not making light of York's abilities, but people (players, fans, media) said the same thing about Fant when he joined the program.

In my opinion MSU has been struggling to find an identity at QB since Sleepy Robinson was injured. As many years as Madkin played, he should have had the notoriety of being THE quarterback at State, but everyone knew he wasn't the "real deal" with Fant waiting in the wings. Now that Fant finally has his turn, it seems everyone wants York.

I hope that Fant steps up and shows that he is THE MAN above all others, but if he can't get it done, I hope that Sherril won't drag his feet in making the decision to replace him. IMHO, he held on to Madkin too long.
