National Open
National Open
If anyone is interested, the National Field Trail Championship started Sunday and they are in the third series as of today, they lost 6 dogs after the first and second series. I have been keeping up with it on Working Retriever Central, because I have several friends running dogs and my goal is to have one of my pups running in it one day or a pup from one of my females in it and I think that will happen in a year or two with Moody's Medicine Man aka "Doctor". Doctor is out of my FT/HT BLF Rudy's Jazzin Prima Donna MH QAA aka "Jazz".
It always blows my mind the set-ups they come up with at the National, the dog that wins either National, Open or Am, is truly an amazing animal.

Ive been kinda keepin up with it, although i dont plan on runnin no field trials any time soon. The stuff they come up with is simply amazing.

you can also watch a little clip of each day with commentary which is pretty cool here: http://www.ybsmedia.com/nationalreport/index.html

Looks like Mississippi is represented with Kip Kemp and they are still in according to WRC. I guess Sam Milton is not running Ford this year? I didn't see him listed but I thought he qualified.

No, Ford did not qualify for the National, he has been side-lined pretty much for the last several months due to a shoulder injury. I talked to Sam last week and he said Ford was doing fine and looking forward to start running again.

Update: 80 potential National Field Champions started the National and after the 3rd Series 18 have been dropped. The 4th series has started and it looks like a MONSTER Blind. From what I have heard Kippy Kemp and "Blue" are doing Okay.

I remember now about the shoulder thing but thought he was going to be ready for the national. I didn't realize he wasn't qualified this year. Creek Robber blew his other cruciate and is not running either-he was a finalist last year.

Well, Kippy and "Blue" are out of the National, but hey he is a very young dog and a very nice dog, he will be back.
From what I am told and from what they showed for the 6th series water triple it was a BIG Time Master Test and from what I was told and read, it ate some dogs up pretty bad.

From what I've seen and heard, distances are MUCH shorter than the typical open all age trials and its still tough.
