Forming a duck club

Postby pushpole » Mon May 13, 2002 4:54 pm

O.K. guys, need some help. How do I go about this? We have a lease and I have some members. What is next? Do I need to register the club with the MS Game and Fish, the club is a non-profit organization and will only be used for recreation. What will I need to get a checking account set up other than money? All info is greatly appreciated,

Thanks TMore. It does help. Our club name is Old Duck Hunters Association. I am thinking of opening the club account in ODHA. This way we can meet the dynamics of the membership. We are limited our membership to 10. No Dr.'S or Lawyers just working stiffs with very little operating budget. I will consider your input very seriously. Thanks again answering my post.

And yes -- we will need water but our lease has guaranteed water

You need to carry a liability policy on the lease and incorporate it. God forbid that anything happens to anyone while in the blind but you need to have all risks covered. Some land owners will require it in the lease but make sure you are covered either by the land owner or a club policy.

Good luck with the coming season!
