Couple of questions...

Jr. plays football down there friday night. they play West Lauderdale. Mapquest shows the closest route to come down Hwy 45, then up to Collinsville. But there is also a road to Collinsville going through Philadelphia. Any idea which route is better? And how far is Collinsville from Meridian ?

Also, I have some folks coming up from Mobile, and I need an easy place for us to meet. Probably an eating establishment - not too expensive but not McDonalds. Any suggestions?

If you know how to get to Philadelphia, and are comfortable with that. Hwy 19 is a pretty good road. It will take you straight to Collinsville from Philadelphia, just be careful. A good bit of traffic on a Friday afternoon.

As far as somewhere to meet, you probaly would want to go on in to Meridian down Hwy 19 (about 12 miles) and eat at Out Back or O'Charlies.
Meridian is the waste whole of resteraunts. The only decent ones are to hard to find for someone not familar, and they will all be crowed Friday night.

MSB as JMAllard said be careful on those roads. We have more fatal wrecks in that district than anywhere in the state. So watch out for the other idiots. Vern

Drive down highway 45 to I-20. Go west on I-20 to exit 150. Bear right on the off ramp split. Then go left at the light onto highway 19 (at this light I-20 will be parallel to your vehicle). Take highway 19 North to Collinsville. At Collinsville go Rt. at the light. That will take you to West Lauderdale. I will pm my cell phone if you need any help.

Going thru Philadelphia will put you on two lane roads thru the woods. At least 45 is 4 lane thru the woods. Less chance of having a head on with a drunk coming from the casino.

If your coming early and want to see a fish hatchery let me know.
