I honestly haven't heard about the DU Banquet this year, I do know that Russ Nowell has for the last several years headed it up, but he and his wife are the proud parents of a new baby girl born last friday and I can tell you that his time is all about her right now and for a while.

You know, there was a time in Louisville / Winston County when there were exactly two folks in town that would own up to being duck hunters! I'm talking late 60's / early 70's. Any of you Louisville Wildcats /Patriots/Warriors want to guess who they were?

The winner gets a cup of coffee on me at the Mud Jug when I'm in town at Thanksgiving.

Crow,

I will take a guess at it, the two wouldn't be Buddy Ball and Harry Tabor?

Buck Clark and his brother,Bobby, were the only folks I ever met in Louisville who ever talked about duck hunting back in the day. Baker Clark is the son and my age. Is he still around? The only Tabor I knew was Bill Tabor whose family owned the drug store on the corner there on Main. A bit older than me was Tommy Tabor who was about my older brother's age. Neither ever talked about anyone in their family hunting ducks, though. Musta been closet duck hunters!

I'll buy you a cup of coffee, anyway. I am going to be in town the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving. Why don't we round up ole Timberjack for a cup Sat. afternoon?

Backer is living in Pensacola, he and my dad were good friends. I saw Bobby yesterday, we went to his farm and worked the duck mutts.

Crow,

I completely forgot about Mr. Buck and Mr. Bobby, heck they took me on several duck hunts when I was younger, they introduced me to idea of Brandy in the duck blind when it was real cold, they always said it will keep you warm when nothing else will.

Duckkiller, who did you train with out at Mr. Booby's place, I know that Charlie went out there I think last week?

Big R, Ole Buck has been known to pull on a bottle of peach brandy on occasion! My dad and he were pretty good friends a while back.

Duckkiller, next time you see Bobby, ask him if he remembers an old friend, Darnell Crowson. Tell him that his youngest son, Bobby Crowson, said hello.
