Minnesota’s Senator Claims He Saved Duck Season?
Typical Yankee Democrat, taking credit for grandiose things (Saving Duck Hunting)that he had nothing to do with. LOL. He was just in a pissing contest with Lott.
Of course this type of behavior is not new. Al Gore claimed responsibility for inventing the internet. And Benny/Lacuna claims to have invented duck hunting.(Not sure if Benny was a Democrat, but he fits the profile).

Wellstone Wins for Sportsmen
Again He Stops an Attack on Minnesota’s Duck Hunting Season
In November of 2001, Paul Wellstone once again stopped U.S. Senator Trent Lott from trying to extend duck hunting season in Mississippi. The special favor for Mississippi duck hunters would have lowered bag limits and could have shortened the hunting season in Minnesota. Wellstone persuaded the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service not to cave into pressure and extend duck hunting season in the South.
This wasn’t the first sneak attack on Minnesota duck hunters. In October 1998, Paul Wellstone blocked a last minute special favor for Mississippi duck hunters that Senator Trent Lott snuck into the omnibus budget bill that extended the Mississippi duck hunting season. "Senator Lott’s rider is arbitrary and only benefits the Southern states," Wellstone said at the time. "Harvest distribution within and among the flyways could change and Minnesota’s hunters would get the raw end of the deal."
He’s been there on other sportsmen issues as well. Paul Wellstone worked vigorously to expand the Conservation Reserve Program in 1995. This program has been a huge boost to protecting soil, reducing erosion and creating habitat. Wellstone joined with sporting and conservation groups and worked to restore the small amount of federal funding that helps support the very successful Partners for Wildlife project in Northern Minnesota. Partners for Wildlife is a voluntary program that restores wetlands and upland areas through local financial and volunteer participation.
Wellstone Fought for Minnesota’s Duck Hunters.
In November 2001, Paul Wellstone fought to protect Minnesota’s duck hunting season and won. Mississippi Senator Trent Lott and other members of Congress from Southern states tried to extend the duck hunting season in Mississippi, which would have meant lower bag limits and shorter duck hunting seasons in Minnesota and throughout the Upper Midwest. Wellstone persuaded the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service not to extend duck hunting season in the South, thus protecting Minnesota’s duck hunting seasons.

In 1998, Wellstone Opposed the Extension of Duck Hunting Season in Mississippi, Calling It Unfair for Minnesota Hunters.
In October 1998, Paul Wellstone blasted a last minute special favor for Mississippi duck hunters that Senator Trent Lott snuck into the omnibus budget bill that extended the Mississippi duck hunting season. Wellstone’s opposition to the extension of the Mississippi duck hunting season was due to its only benefitting Southern states and it could change duck flyways, affecting Minnesota duck hunters. "Senator Lott’s rider is arbitrary and only benefits the Southern states," Wellstone said. "Harvest distribution within and among the flyways could change and Minnesota’s hunters would get the raw end of the deal."
[Wellstone Release, 10/21/98]
Wellstone Previously Saved Duck Hunting Season in 1995.
Paul Wellstone passed an amendment to the Republican regulatory reform bill of 1995 which saved duck hunting season in Minnesota. The Republican bill prohibited the Fish and Wildlife Service from establishing rules which govern the bird hunting season. Wellstone’s amendment assured that duck hunting season started on time.

Yeah Minnesota should be real proud of him he saved the ducks from us mean old Mississippi boys. What in the he11 did giving us 10 more days of hunting have to do with lowering bag limits. Just pissed off that we were getting it and they were not included.
Wellstone persuaded the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service not to cave into pressure and extend duck hunting season in the South.
We didn’t ask for an extended season we asked to have our sixty days back with a later closing. Just like a politician to twist words.

Just like I said he was just pissed his state didn’t get anything out of it. If all the Bio boys research is true we (all of us) hunters effect less than 9 % of the entire duck population by hunting. !) more days would have killed the rest out.

Spinners could change the way birds use the flyway too is he looking to do away with those? And there it is again in black and white that it was just not fair. I bet he was a cry baby growing up cause he sure still carries that trait.
MOMMIE THEY GET TO HUNT WHEN THE DUCKS ARE THERE AND THAT IS JUST NOT FAIR…. WAHH WAHH WAHH

They can add 50 days to our season, If they keep adding them to the front of the season.
What does it hurt to hunt a duck in Mississippi, That is still in Minn.
The stupid booty guys up there cry about us getting a longer season, but they don't understand that we have no ducks during the days they give us. If they gave us 10 more days at the end of the season it could be a diffrent story. We should argue that they get to hunt in Oct. when they have ducks.
It hurts nothing to add days to the front of the MS season, We don't have --it to shoot at anyway!!!!!
