Ducks Unlimited-vs-Delta Waterfowl

Insider, I'll be glad to name those when I get back home where I have them. Off the top of my head though there is O'Keefe,Trimcane, Springdale, Dahomey, one over near Corinth I can't remember the name now, one overnear Lambert.
ALMOST EVERY state wildlife management area in the delta has a Waterfowl Management project supported by DU. States aren't getting shortchanged, DU is just using priorties. For years all the money raised here went up north for nesting and breeding projects, now it's our turn. I know the # of COMPLETED projects in Mississippi now is around 4000+. Of those $ we all have contributed to DU, 11 million $ have been used back in Mississippi projects as of 2001.
Those figures are DU's contributions not counting partners contributions. These projects are not done by any 1 organization, but several working together.

Several if not all of those publicly owned areas you mention in your post had partners working on those project. It wasn't just one organization that donated all the money or did all the work. If you doubt me just make a call to those areas you mentioned and ask for the specifics. They will have the information on hand. Once that is done, call DU's office in Jackson to see what their contrabution claims to be. I could be wrong. If so, show me

4000+ projects in MS? Where are these? DU is going to place a sign on any project they have worked on. Just imagine 4000+ signs across the MS Detla! The Delta would be just one large billboard! Were these solely funded by DU? Or did DU get monies from from "Partners", and give those partners no credit? Give me the credible info, because I love to learn

DU is a heck of an organization. They have done a heck of a good job and will continue to do so. Just like when somebody is at the top of their field, somebody else is always trying to pull them down. It doesn't matter if you are DU, killed that monster buck, caught that trophy large mouth or are a multi-millionaire. You either did it illegally or screwed somebody to get on top says the man on the bottom. I doubt we will ever see a waterfowl organization as successful as DU in our life time.

Tunica DU4U, I can tell you are a loyal follower and volunteer. Your support has not gone un-noticed.

No harm meant, but I just like stimulating conversation

quote from my earlier post " These projects are not done by any 1 organization, but several working together."
Never did I say or mean DU done these alone. They are contributing partners.DU has 3 types of projects in Ms. 1.Demonstration/Techinal Assistance Projects, where Du provides on site biological guidance or demonstrations to benefit waterfowl management.
2. Marsh Projects (matching aid to restore state habitat) which does just what the name says, provides matching aid with other organizations.
3.Conservation Projects, which includes wetland enhancements, grassland restoration, private land easements, water control structures, etc. that are NOT a part of the MARSH program.
I have a map on the wall of my office with all the different projects marked and Tunica, Coahoma, Bolivar, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Carroll, Leflore and Sunflower counties are nearly solid black with marks. Infolab Farm on Island 66 in Coahoma county has over a 100(maybe 200) conservation projects(water structures) on it alone furnished by DU.Greenwing can give that # if he will. That's a chunk of change, Bubba. I had a couple water gates 3' X 4',less pipe, built last year that were $425.00 each.
No harm taken, Insider. I 2 love a good discussion.

I could say/question more, but it would be just for the sake of arguing (having fun). Some say I would argue with a stump if it could argue back. It was fun while it lasted! People wouldn't be trying to knock DU if they weren't the best at what they do. Maybe people will be trying to bring down MSU's football program one day Yea! Right! The people that bad mouth DU on this board know that if they were offered a job by DU that they would jump at the chance. Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw once, "Never cuss a farmer while your mouth is full."

Where did that fellow named Benny/Lacuna go anyway?

How long do you think people will let the DU VS DW horse lay dead before trying to revive it? I'll give it less than 4 weeks.

I give it less than 2 weeks if that long. Great while it lasted.
