Time to knock the dust off!!!

Postby Model12 » Tue Aug 07, 2001 1:40 pm

Well, saturday we head to the duck camp. I haven't been there in seven months. I'm looking foward to it. Going to repair a tin roof, sweep out some spider webs, hang a new wader rack, hook up an additional camper, cut grass, scout a little, check on beaver dams, drink a few beers, cook a steak, etc.,etc. Any of you boys made a trip yet? What improvments are you making this year???

Probably headed to the camp this weekend to do some of the same. Clean, run the mud boat, and put some cool seal on the roof. Hopefully will see a few teal ducks around also.

WE HAVE BEEN REWORKING THE RAILING AROUND OUR CAMP AND GETTING READY TO PUT A METAL ROOF OVER THE WHOLE THING PORCHES AND ALL. ALSO MOVED THE STAIRS LEADING UP TO THE CAMP HOUSE. MOWED AND DE-SNAKED THE LOT. NEXT WE WILL REWORK THE FENCE OUT BY THE ROAD, AND AS SOON AS IT COOLS OFF SOME WE WILL MOVE BACK INSIDE TO FINISH THE INTERIOR (NO A.C. JUST YET).

LOL: Does anyone who is NOT a hunter or RVer know what "cool seal" is? I used to have to put it on the seams of the camper every year back when I was still hunting deer.

GULFCOAST,
PEOPLE WHO OWN A MOBILE HOME (HOUSE TRAILER,PRE-MANUFACTURED HOUSING, TORNADO MAGNET) BETTER KNOW WHAT IT IS. IF THEY DON'T. THEY WILL LEARN ABOUT IT IN HURRY IF THEIR HOME IS ONE OF THE OLDER ONES.

i haven't missed a week at my blind this summer.... have grilled out so much that the skeeters have left.. home away from home... i have banded all the beavers and sliders for future reference... no chance of a wasp nest at the shack... i even noticed that i had skin growing between my toes from all the swamp walking... will be web footed in a year or two...haha... get out and enjoy your blinds... have fun....

Fellas, your are looking at one happy man! this year i have my own hole for the first time! what i mean is a duck hole in the delta. i love my roosting hole for "woodrows" in the hills, but i'm beside myself looking forward to the upcoming season. there ain't a camp yet but maybe one day...

Man, I'm glad you mentioned seed. I think I have a 50# sack of jap millet left. I'll scatter it while I'm there....
