Acrylic but then again I hunt the open marsh. Need the extra volume. All depends where you hunt I guess. Big guys best and has never froze on me even on low teens and single digit days.

I prefer acrylic cause I have a tendancy to bust my booty alot and dunk my calls. Acrylic doesn't swell but an old yentzen sure sounds good

Acrylic gets my vote due to open marsh and rice fields.

best call?? the one that stays in someone else's pocket....

either or - depends on which one isn't clogged with hack at the moment...

Calls are a personal preference item...who cares what the other guy has...buy the one you think sounds best.

Boy I am glad yall posted up this topic. Bout all I use is my DR85 and I got another one I like (its a cheapo too but sounds good) I think it may have been made by Rotten not sure.

Anyway I decided I was gonna buy the fellow that got me into duck hunting in 98 (he is also a good friend) a quality duck call this year for christmas. Well after looking at this and studying other post I have decided to get him a RNT cocobola short barrel. He will be tickled when he sees it.

While looking at these post I saw the one with Kwack Wacker calls, I will be trying one of those for myself.

I use acrylic. I like the sweeter more crisp sound and they last forever.

My favorite call is custom built out of electrical conduit and has metal reeds. I use it on windy days. The fiberglass call makes my lips itch.
