A buddy of mine has hunted out of one before. he says that boat is one of the best constructed boats on the market. one good thing about f and f is that you can take them a boat plan laid out how YOU want it and they will build it! I have never heard anything negative about them with the exception that they are a little pricey...but as you know in this ol' world you get what you pay for! I would say go for it you can't go wrong.

hey noangel, I looked at an 18ft with 80" bottom. I think i'm going to get one and put my 75 mariner on it. I need something to run the river in. I also like the ice breakers on the bottom.

I have one. Me and my uncle bought ordered and picked it up at the same time. We LOVE them. one is a 15/48 running a 50hp Merc and the other a 16/72 running a 90hp Merc. Don't think I'll need to ever buy another boat. These are rugged boats. The only thing we have in them are a front deck, back seat, and steering wheel. Anything else would just get in the way. I highly recoment them. Others have bought F & F after riding, fishing, hunting, and looking at the boats.

I've got 2 of them critters. Got a 1538 that is about 17 years old and still just as fine as the day I got it. Just outgrew it. Had Bobby build me 1754 little over 2 years ago & set it up for my go devil. Had it outfitted with 4 camo pedestal seats, front deck, camo'ed, slip resistant floor covering & I added pop up blind. It's awesome in ditches, marsh and swamps. Floatation is SUPER. Have had a couple friends here got boats built from him since. Everybody loves em. One of my friends gave Bobby a border collie pup several years ago and seems like every since he really goes out of his way to please us.

Something to think about when buying a wider boat that 72". My brother has a wide 18' foot jon boat with a 70 hp Yamaha, just a back seat and front deck. Great boat for the river but the darn thing won't turn at least not in a reasonable radius. Has a steering wheel and man it's a tough boat to operate in all but the widest of areas. I gave him a "suicide Knob" for the steering wheel, (you can find them in a tractor supply store) and it helped alot. At least you could spin the steering wheel faster.
We used the boat on the MS river 2 years ago when all of the ice was floating and the river was high. Even in those conditions you felt safe in that big ole boat. I'm sure there is a way to improve the turning performance if you are havign a custom boat built, jsut keep this in mind.

Dang NoAngel - I need to hire you. You went from inquiring about the boat to working for them, advertizing, and having inventory on hand in just 5 days....that's what I call being on the fast-track. Is there a web site? Why don't you post a pic on the classified portion of the site. I would love to check one out.
