Made the road trip to the north this past weekend to meet some of these people that you talk with on this forum. Duckhunt4 and I took a couple of friends with us and were most impressed with the camp house. The old place has a lot of history to it and the owners are lucky to have it.
Didn’t get to talk much with 00Duck as he was doing his thing, StockBroker was pulling targets most of the time and it left only a few around to talk and get a chance to really meet the person.
Must say I like Delta Duck, very easy man to talk with; Cookumducks was not as I pictured, but a really friendly guy none the less. He was a little older than I pictured him. These guys went out of their way to have a gathering and I felt compelled to attend since they were going to go through all the trouble.
I like that part of the country, and I can see where you might kill a duck or two in that area, I might just have to become more acquainted with the public places around there.
Didn’t stay as late as I had planned, We watched the guys shoot awhile and waited to go to the shooting range and it just never developed so we decided to head back and put a few Crappie in the Ice chest.
All in all a nice gathering, was a little disappointed that none of the guys from the Starkville gathering made the trip. Guess it is like I told Duckhunt4, Some people talk the talk and other walk the walk.
Really hate that I took the camera and never took any pictures.
I want to thank those that were there for being so friendly to Allen as you could see he was in need of it.
To all that put on the event the 1:30 hole gang and I say thanks.

I really hated to miss it but my youngest son was 8 on Saturday and he opened up the baseball season with a 3 for 3 performance (2 doubles and triple). We lost the game but I was proud of him (as always) for his efforts.

We will try to make the DU Fest this year so maybe I'll get a chance to meet some of you fellows up there.

Dan,
I aint making excuses, glad you all had a great get together, but.. I said if you put it on the third weekend of turkey season I aint going and I had to hold to it. Too little time to hunt turkeys, just had to have the priorities that and a 30 min. drive to turkeys, 6 hr. drive to the get together. However if we have another get together, I'll bring all the fish we need, Specks or Sac-a-lait. SOrry I missed it, but glad you all got to have a good time.

Dan, I was in the same boat as Jeff, turkey hunted last weekend in Hatley. If I had busted a bird early saturday morning, I was heading to Tunica, but things didn't work out.

I would have loved to made it, but just had too many irons in the fire here, and had to speak at Church at 7:00 the next A.M., so it really took me out. Heck, I have been so busy that I have barely even been checking the board. Thanks Judge and Scooter for picking up the slack.

Sure felt good to get back in the flatland for a while! Good to get back and talk farmin', huntin', and shootin' with everyone. There must have been enough food to feed the 7th Cav, too! Cook'm, I bet your eyes are still red from all the smoke! Enjoyed the fellowship, boys. Oxford and Starkville haven't changed much, either. Interviewed quite a few good teacher candidates and maybe a few can be lured over here to teach with us. Thanks for a good time, guys! Made it hard to come back to GA yesterday!

Crow, I enjoyed the fellowship. My kids thought you would be a cool school principal. Let me know when you return to Mississloppy. Maybe we can chase a greenhead or two this winter.

You can count on it MSB! Tell your daughter thanks for pulling the targets for us. Your son is a great young man, too (Congrats...you and your wife have raised a polite, goodnatured kid. Hope his football season goes well this year (tell him I still think the offensive line is where the action is!) And, you better watch out; he is going to be a great wingshot with a little more practice. Thanks for helping with the organizing for the outing. 00Duck, thanks for the use of the club, too. Great place! Now, we just need the tour of the Judges' place!
