fire the coach.. duckmen destroyed!!!!!

Postby bigwater » Tue Oct 04, 2005 7:01 am

The Msduckmen made their flag football debut last night and suffered a 21-0 setback to the hands of West Jackson's finest. The duckmen looked old slow and crippled (much like a gadwall shot in the booty at 40 plus yards).. However there was no quit on anyone's part, and there were a few flashes of athelticism..

The Good:: Wow.. how nice was that new generation turf that we played on last night. Really neat stuff that.. Some may say is better than the real stuff.. The actual field we played on was the same size as a regulation football field.. The facility and the league appear to be very well ran..

The Bad:: Whew where do we start?? Offense.. pretty lousy.. defense maybe a little better..

on offense we had a chance to make a little noise early in the game.. facing a 3rd and long (which was a common occurrence) we called deadeye's number.. Deadeye is a fine looking football player about 6'7" and runs like a gazalle (real ol gazalle.. hahaha..)..

Deadeye's corner route found him wide open around midfield.. Joe Kain did what he's paid to do and put the ball on the money.. only thing was Ol deadeye had already started searching for the endzone and he very well might have made it as he was behind the defense.. course you need the ball to score and ol deadeye let it slip right b/w his hands.. ouch!!!!!

Yes.. Ol deadeye did redeem himself as we made one last push at making it a ballgame.. at the start of the second half the defense "bowed" its neck and got a 3 and out... then we expolited a mismatch as we picked on their 5'4" cornerback with ol deadyeye... this time their was no denying deadeye.. joe kain lofted it perfectly and deadeye snagged it for a 40 yard gain. placing the duckmen deep in west jackson territory.. however the drive fizzled and the badguys manged one more score...

final 21-0...

it was fun and i promise we will get better

I couldn't hardly get out of bed this morning... I mean how many GO routes can one person run in a football game? Then play roaming safety and try to cover 18 yr olds with 4.5 speed... damn, I hurt all over.

But nobody got behind me for a score... :D

One thing that surface will do for you is carpet burn the crap out of you...
Deadeye.... does anyone have any muscle relaxers?

From what I heard it would be best to line up in the wishbone and run as much clock as possible. I wish I lived closer. I would like to play. To quote Toby Keith, " I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was."

don miller.. you very well may be right.. this league allows you to extend you arms and block (much like pass blocking) you can block with your arms out for 5 yards from the line of scrimage.. proably should have tried and ran the ball more...

the other thing we're in need of is players.. subs..

playing on the full size field is ruff... we need about 14 men on the team. last night we had 9.. play 8 at a time...

i hope quackers, quackers buddy, gator, woundedduck all can make the next game..

I'll do whatever it takes for the team to win Coach. I dedicated to the Regulators or Fighting Mergansers or whatever we are.

BTW, if we do get some subs for the next game either pray for cold weather to run off the mosquitos or bring a thermocell. Those things chewed on my booty last night during halftime.
