Snow in Canada ?

Postby browndog » Mon Mar 25, 2002 10:37 pm

Wondering if anybody has heard or anybody from Canada has any info on recent snow, potential for duck-water this spring in Canadian prairie areas. I realize this is a big area, but earlier reports were not good-very dry, wondering if things have improved. Talked to people in Dakotas, Minnesota etc and they have picked up a good amount of snow lately.. so hopefully it is snowing north of the border too..

Snow in Canada ?

well, here in So. Alberta we have so we are told an above average snowfall in the mountains which will certainly help the irrigation districts.

On the prairie we get almost 60% of our annual snowfall in March and April. We are at about average snowfall for March and are hoping and praying for a good wet dump of snow in the next few weeks and some decent rain in april.

Right now we need some seriously wet weather to bring the sloughs and potholes anywhere near normal.

The farmers almanac if you belive them are forcasting a wet cold spring on the Canadian prairies so let's hope they are right.

Thanks, Shotgun1! And, welcome aboard. So, what are you guys doing up that way this time of year? We're chasing turkeys, fishing for crappie, and having cookouts down here.
