Wore em out yesterday

Postby peewee » Fri Mar 15, 2002 9:32 am

Hey guys if you got a pond to fish you might want to try it this evening. Yesterday a buddy and myself caught around 40 bream and about 6 crappie. We were using bettle spins and the fish didn't bite until about 30 min. before dark. We had been out there for 1 1/2 and only caught 5 fish. Then as it started turning dark it looked like the water started bubbling there were so many fish feeding. Needless to say I will be back this evening.

After the decoys are put away, and the gun is all greased up for the off season, I start to focus on fishing. It used to be my job, but now its strictly pleasure.

I just spent $500 readying my boat to fish, replaced the prop that got chewed up on a cypress stump chasing ducks, new trolling motor, lures, motor maintenance, etc. I haven't even hit the water yet.

Sounds like you caught them at a good time. Was there a front moving in? Nothing like being there when they are feeding, catch one on every cast.

Thanks for the info and have fun cleaning those fish.

Not really a front moving in I dont know whats up. A guy I go to church with told me to go down there. He said he and his son has been catching them every evening since monday like that but they dont start biting till dark. I tried to talk my wife into going this evening but she already had plans. I tried to tell her you dont get into them like this very often. But you know women. But at the same time being my luck they wont bite this evening. If thats the case oh well I had fun while it lasted.
