Guys, I bought a muzzleloader last year and I'm using open sights right now. My question is should I buy a pro-point/red dot or a small scope. What do you use/prefer and let me know the advantages and dis-advantages. Just not sure what to get.
Thanks in advance for your help, baldduck

Muzzleloader Question??
Tell ya baldduck,
I have a scope on mine, I used the pro-point and in early morning or late evening the red is so bright you loose the target, When you lower the brightness of the dot you got a reflective glow in the entire viewer. Was a real pain for me and my old eyes. Went to a cheap 2X light gathering scope and killed two last year with it.
Made it much easier to see.
I know Benny Scope and muzzleloader don't go togeather but I don't have a battery in my scope does that count.... hehe

Muzzleloader Question??
I have a Pro-point on mine and love it, it gives you a very fine aiming point and it sights quickly with both eyes open. I haven't had a problem with low light myself, but understand that several people do when using a "red-dot."
The scope, of course, will give you a clearer, magnified sight window. That might come in handy picking out that big buck in thick brush. It would also give you a better look at them horns on a marginal buck, and you wouldn't have to worry about your batteries going dead...sometimes hard to remember to turn that sucker off when you get back to the truck!!

Muzzleloader Question??
Why not go ahead ahead ad pick it up a notch. It is legal now to use any scope on your muzzleloader you can afford.
