After all the great responses you got from your question about barrel length....I'm just curious.....did you find anything helpful, at all?

What kind of gun are you going to buy, now....AND......most importantly......what length barrel are you gonna get and WHAT prompted your decision?

It's nice, occasionally to see something positive come from everyone's efforts to help a fellow waterfowler with sucha decision. I just hope it wasn't a 'show-and-tell' session that rendered no results.

I hate losing my password had to re-register. I ended up going with the winchester SX2 with a 26in barrell in Mossy Oak Break Up for $700.00 I chose the SX2 becuase I had a couple of friends who have both the SX2,BGH, and SBE who hunt as hard as me in some nasty places. I spent days on the net reading as many gun reports as I could and went to any forum I could to get feed back. The SX2 is basically the same gun as the BGH 3.5 and it $300.00 cheaper. The gun I ordered has a 26in barrell cause thats the only length that I could get it in MOBU. I called Winchester and talked to a ballistic guru they have. He told me that in the OLD days barrell lenght meant every thing for range, but in todays hunting environment that choke tubes even the playing field , and that I could get the same performace out of a 26 that I could get outta 28in. So that sealed the deal so to speak. Thanks to all that posted.

Well, I guess I better go get me a wad-strippin' 'patternmaster' choke tube before there's a RUN on them, too.

That sounds like something that all steel shot shooters would benefit from..........Poor little duckies

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, 'Goosebruce'!
