Postby Model12 » Mon Mar 04, 2002 11:01 am

Well, our group met at the camp this weekend to install a new Refrig/Freezer and a DISHWASHER. Thats right, finally a dishwasher. I'm looking foward to using that baby. Anyway, The corn field behind the camp was absolutly filled with mallards and wigeon. We watched um for hours. Oh well, maybe next year!!!

Went down to my camp(15 mi. S of Tunica)yesterday to check everything with all the freezing and all and lo and behold the bayou 200 ft from our front door probably had 500- 600 mallards feeding and playing. Saw ducks everywhere there was water around Dundee.

I went up to the camp Sat. evening to open up some culverts and saw several hundred ducks.

Hey uncle walt the ducks were sitting down near where you and Alan hunted that morning. Probablly gonna be some millet in there before next season.

Uncle Walt, Alan will be there Sunday or at least he said he was this past weekend. I am going to New Orleans for the weekend so I aint gonna make it. I will be up there thursday afternoon busting open them culverts again. I am sure the beavers have stopped them back up.

Hey uncle walt, as soon as you round the curve on the road in that ash plantation there is a little beaver damn sitting there. (Not 50 yards from the road) Looks to me like it is holding a good bit of water in that plantation and it wouldn't take much to break it. Have fun at the camp.

Went over to my camp this pm and saw a good bit of ducks. Lot's of widgeon, teal, and a good bit of mallards..It was nice to see them. I got into the edge of the woods and listened for about 30-45 minutes. I got a good calling lesson from the live ducks. Kinda funny, I didn't hear 1 loud ass hail call or any machine gun feed chatter! Mostly 6 note wannnk wannk wank wank wank wank...It got me fired back up for next year. I told my wife the other day only 6 mo's to teal season..She didn't think that was to funny.
