I guess I figured that they've pretty much already caught on.. I sho would like to have a 27hp prodrive on the back of my war eagle.. Prolly have to be next year, though.

A buddy of mine has one on his grizzly. It was/is awesome. That sucker would go anywhere that the grizzly could handle.
Be where they want to be..

Been running them for over a year now. They are the thang to have..makes muddin more fun and are much easier to run than the old long tails. Come drive my Pro-Drive and find out for yourself. I got a barely used 27 h.p. on hand and will have barley used 32 in mid September and might could get it sooner. And new ones are always available...If you haven't tried out the new Pro-Drive Full Power Reverse, you ain't never seen a duck boat going backwards!

I am still running a longtail. It does plenty good but, I think the prodrive design would be a lot better. They are a lot higher in price though.

Just wait it out. Longtails were high at one point too. The newer shinier toy will be out w/in a couple of years and folks will start unloading their short tails at reasonable prices then.

Unfortunately, according to my check book I do  I see where you are coming from though. Heck, with the price of raw steel rising the way it has in the last year or so everything is gonna be made of plastic soon anyway. :? ...oh wait, it already is. This po boy is gonna have to wait a little longer before I am able to get one of those hawgs. I assure you, if I had the cash laying around, I'd get a surface drive so fast it'd make your head spin, but I don't, so I'll wait. :?

I have been in a boat with a 27hp pro drive and a 35 mudbuddy. Let me tell you the power difference is unbelievable. I know the horsepower difference, but I think it has a different gear ratio or something b/c it does not seem like 8 hp difference. It feels like twice the power.

The 32 horse Pro-Drive is that way too. Hole shot is amazing. The torque makes the difference.

let me tell you something the new surface drives are the shiiizzle. i am a mudbuddy dealer and love them. however the prodrives are nice too. if you want to demo one let me know or contact jimaire for a prodrive demo, he is a stand up guy. they are both nice, just test drive both of them and see which you like. they will take you places other hunters cant go. they dont have the speed of an outboard but will walk circles around an outboard in shallow water and mud. thanks. and jimaire is right they aint going down in price. with metal and gas at an all time high nothing with metal that has to be delivered by anything that has to have fuel to run is going down. you havent seen four wheelers and trucks go down.
