Beretta Shotguns ??

For what it is worth, I am currently looking into a Benelli but it seems as if I should re consider and take a strong look at the Al390, I will be at Wally world tonight.

Go ahead and step up to the plate. If you can't find a deal at Wal-Mart buy the 391. I've used my 390 as a paddle, push pole, etc. and never had a problem with this workhorse of a gun. Gumbo mud, water, and just abouut anything else you can imagine and the gun does not misfire a shell. Bought the 391 at the beginning of the season and it has been flawless as well. Light, well balanced and reliable-look no further!

I agree, my 390 has performed flawlessly all season, despite being abused mercilessly. I broke my brother inlaws down last night and cleaned it for him. You would not beleive the amount of junk that came out of the gun and it was still working perfectly!! The most reliable gun I have ever owned with out a doubt!!! Think I may have to take a look at the Extrema I'm sure my wife thinks I need another gun

As bad as you shoot you don't need to worry about an auto loader. You might as well use a single shot.

What has been your limit this year? Tell all of these good people how many duckies you've killed this year.

When you shoot them on the water you can get your limit in 1 shot if you are patience.

The only problem with me limiting out this year has been lack of ducks, not shooting ability.

Unlike yourself, some people like the sport of shooting flying waterfowl, not " sitting ducks ". You are starting to sound like Uncle Todd trying to line up ducks sitting on the water to save money on shells.

And another thing, if some people would get with their buddies and take a trip to the Delta instead of worrying about scooping horse turds we might get to unload an auto shotgun a time or two.

I'm leaving Friday at 5:30. Maybe Todd can go if you are too busy.

Acting like who? Don't push your luck here buddy. I'm all for shooting a limit of ducks, but I'm not for wasting money and time. By the way, you don't want that "moocher" getting in any deeper with you do you? When you talk to the contact let me know about this weekend. If not we'll check out the honey hole for Sat. pm.

p.s. You remember what the "Duck Commander" said about shooting ducks on the water!

If they sit down you better not be sitting across from me. AND THAT'S THE FINAL ANSWER!

Depends on the model, but about $750. More in the target guns.

As the others have said, the 390's are a very dependable shotgun. If money is a question, don't over look a Beretta 302 or 303 either. They were the predecessor to the 390 and I would rank them as being nearly as reliable.

As for the Extrema, I will reserve judgement until a few more get in the field. So far the only problem with them is one report I read complaining of the the rubber inserts on the forestock "peeling". Still in all, I would expect that the Extrema will be another Beretta sucess story.

My wife shoots targets and birds with a 3" Beretta 303 20 guage, and I don't think you could ever pry it away from her. Only problem with the 303's was that the trigger mechanism is a BOOGER to put back in once you take it all apart. Sweet little guns, though.

GulfCoast -

Did you ever have/handle/shoot one of the 302's? They had the "4th" shell feature like a Benelli.

Had a friend/customer at our gun range that had had a heart attack. He tricked out a 12ga 303 to lighten the recoil. You could shoot it off your chin!

I thought since we have revisited this topic of auto-loaders I would bring back this old post. I have hunted with a BGH and it has performed flawlessly. After I heard all the fuss about the 390's, I went to Wal-Mart and bought one. In limited use, I have been very pleased with it. But I thought this post was informative for those who are in the market for a shotgun.

I must have missed WNE's post the first time. I had at one time a tricked out 303 that was like shooting a BB gun. I got rid of it in some halfazzed trade, as usual. It was a fine gun, very soft shooting. The 303 is still very popular with sporting clays shooters. You pretty much look for an old 303 trap gun with a flat rib (there are still some out there) and then you call Rich Cole and get some of the old DU upgrade wood so you get a field stock, and keep the trap stock for a spare, or send it to Anatadae

I have had very good luck with the BGH, in fact I have been one of its staunchest defenders on the internet, but it ain't no beretta, as they say in redneck italian
