guys
hey if any of youll need some suggestions on how to catch them live, pm me, I have caught some with a friend of mine who is a nuissance trapper down here on the coast, nothing like catching old big boy on a hook and line, hehehe, his bigggest catch is 13'8'', he and a friend of mine caught it live, but couldnt do anything with it once they got back to the boat launch, damm thing ended up latching on to the dock so they ended up popping it in the head with old bertha burp.

Thanks for the Clarion Ledger and Cleveland telling the entire state about the season. I am so happy to have my name in the hat along with the entire state competing with the alligators in my own backyard. Shooting them and getting a line in them is easier when you have the right equipment and have done this before legally. Remember when you shoot one of these, you gotta put him in the boat where your butt was sitting on that ride in. The MEA's need to be ready when bubba puts a 8 ft in a 14 ft boat along with momma and the boy.
Sorry, I just hoped this would remain on the down lo.

I could not agree with you more! Now we got to compete with every redneck that can read the paper.

This is gonna be interesting.
well with all the great white hunters in the state the poor little gator aint got a chance...Remember they aint been hunted in decades and they wont put up a fight at all...I think its going to be busy around the emergency rooms...After all everyone has seen Tarzan kill them with his buck knife.

what do you guys think would be the best type of boat to harvest a huge gator with a few buddies on board.....pontoon boat? I can't wait to see 3 guys in a 12 foot john boat try to load a 10' gator up in there with em. This is going to be hilarious for some and unfortunate for others. Everyone make sure your life insurance premiums have been paid. You might want to up the amount as well. You guys be careful...I will see yall out there.

he
yep, going to be pretty funny out on the old reservoir, I suggest a 15' flat at least thats what we use,
I bet the alligator wear is selling like hot cakes, maybe I should sell some small alligator feet to hang around all the mighty alligator hunters necks.
Seriously I hope everyone respects these reptiles, Ive seen them break teeth and bite holes in the rails of the boat, I suggest wire rope snares, plenty of rope, and duck tape if you plan on catching them wild, and dont tape up the snouts the gators will suffocate to death.

Sprig, I know your point and what you are attempting to lead me into. I just think there should be regulations you must meet in order to apply. If you have done this before you may understand what kind of equipment is needed to do this safely. Most people have not thought of how to get the animal into the boat without getting themselves hurt or thrown out of the boat. Few people know how to skin them and I bet that some will discard the animal for lack of knowledge. But hey, give me directions to your backyard and I will hunt there too. I stated that I was frustrated and that I wished for selfish reasons for this to stay on the down lo, but I guess you were to eager to reply without understanding my point. It's open to the public and I have no problem with whole state having a right just like me, I just wish it could be resticted to people that live here locally. Just my own selfish opinion.

Im not going to lie, I have never been alligator hunting before. If I get drawn, I think the class that we will have to attend will be well taught. We are not just going to be turned loose. If I am lucky enough to be drawn and harvest one......I will be calling on one of you guys to help me skin it.
