About 4 years ago, we pulled up to the parking spot to one of my favorite holes. Just as we were cutting off the vehicles, the whole sky lit up with this greenish blast of light and then it was gone instantly. I hoped it wasn't the rapture and I had missed the boat! Come to find out, a satellite had entered the atmosphere somewhere north of New Orleans and south of us...air traffic controllers from New Orleans to Memphis saw the same thing we saw. Pretty neat to see the whole sky flash green.

About three or four years ago a buddy and i were on the highway headed to the hole down around Marks and the sky lite up like that we didnt have a clue as to what it was and it was very spooky and later that evening heard it was trash entering the atmosphere and burning.Kind of like if we told someone they would never really get the full effect unless you saw it.

i would have to say paying $3000.00 for my portion of the lease and killing maybe 10 ducks - thats pretty damn strange and probably stupid as hell to boot. I will be in a club next year, but i promise i won't be paying $3000.00 - never ever again

A friend and I hunted ducks on an old oxbow lake in the in Issaquena County. We rode four wheelers in to a spot near where we hunted, put out four dozen decoys, fired at three or four groups of ducks, probably 20 shots in all, talked in normal voices during lulls in the action, waded out to shift decoys, and moved from one cypress tree to another as the wind shifted and it got light. About 10:00 a.m., after we had been at the site for about four hours, we heard a great noise behind and above us. About a dozen turkeys flew out of the two cypress trees we had been standing under. They all flew over us and across the oxbow -- about 150 yards across, some lighting in trees on the other side, some hitting the ground. I can't explain it. I've hunted turkeys for years. During many hunts, I've walked into the woods in the dark, as silently as possible and spooked turkeys off the roost 150 yards away. But on that duck hunt, we made all kind of noise -- including firing 12 ga., 3 inch magnums -- and moved around a lot immediately below and in plain sight of where the birds were roosted and the birds held tight on the roost for four hours (probably laughing at our poor shooting.)

saw a satellite enter orbit 2 years ago in natchez right at dark. it looked more like a comet and after it got below the horizon there was a loud boom. as it turns out on the evening news they said that it had broken the sound barrier on its way back into orbit. pretty scary when you are 2-3 miles down in the ms river swamp. kinda like wingman, i was scared i missed the boat....

I was bow hunting own my duck lease about 5 yrs ago and had the oppertunity to observe a beaver work on building a dam, if you have never seen this it is very intresting, For about thirty minutes I watched the beaver select trees that seemed to continue to increase in size, after about the third one, he selected this nice oak on top of the leevee that ran alond the ditch. This may not sound that strange but you see, this was the same tree that I had selected to hang my ol'man in. Well needless to say this put me in a situation that I have never even thought about before, so for the sake of me and the beaver, I dropped an arrow, quills down, on his back, You would have though that I would have dropped a bomb. That Beaver exploded into this awful tail slapping routine that I have never witnessed before. It sounded as if he was going to tear down the entire scope of woods I was in. Luckly for me he did this in a fashion that led him away from me. So needless to say I got out of dodge and let the beaver have the tree if he was to come back and decide to get it.

I thought that most hunters would find it strange that anyone limited out this past sorry year of hunting. Usually I have to leave home to kill ducks, but found it strange that this year the opportunities turned out to be better down here in duck-poor Florida.

about 3 or 4 years ago on the opening day of dove season i pulled up to my unckels entrance to his corn fields and there was a car parked right in front of the gate where i couldnt get around it. this was about 4:30 in the morning and i was upset because with the car there we were going to walk about a mile back to the fields so we all get out of the truck shotguns in hand fixing to start walking. i had no idea who the car belonged to but i suspected that it belonged to some other hunters. well anyway i had a flashlight and i shinned it in the car and a black guy and a white girl was in the back seat but naked. well the black guy jumped out of the car still but naked and jumps in the front seat and drives off like a maniac. he never said a word but you should have seen the look on his face. you could imigine what he thought with a bunch of rednecks with shotguns waking him up.

Dixiedogger thats gotta be the funniest post on this board! Being a cop who did a few years on the midnight shift, I caught quite a few people in precarious positions. Talk about deer in the headlights look! He probably thought he'd be strung up for sure! Hey Dixiedogger, I think you did more than just "wake them up". I would say they were definitely doin' more than just sleepin'. Had a very similiar situation with a parked car on the lease land, except during broad daylight. I noticed two long-haired blonde heads bobbing up and down on the backseat. Both were butt-naked---GUYS!!!
I tapped on the window with the palm of my hand, told 'em where the exit road was, then went and washed my hands with hot soapy water!!!

Dedux,
You should have reminded them of that old proverb:
In the beginning God made Adam and Eve...not Adam and Steve
