Pigeon Hunting for dog training

Postby Big Lou » Tue Feb 19, 2002 3:41 pm

Anyone got a spot we could kill some wild pigeons in the country. they are some nasty little pest and most grain farmers are happy to get rid of them. I usually hunt them like doves and it is great practice for the dogs in the off season. It also helps offset the bad duck season we all had. If you got a spot and need another gun email me and we can get together and do some dog training too.

shootin crows is a blast, but i found that most labs don't like to pick them up because of the oil in their feathers.. but you can bet a good dog will get him to you... like it or not....

Big Lou,

Did you ever find anyone to let you go pigeon hunting? If so maybe we can get together and work our dogs. How did your trip go?
