If anyone is interested in shooting sporting clays, there is a fun shoot @ the Willows saturday @ 9:00am til. The shoot is to support the Make-A-Wish foundation.
It will be nice to go and bust some caps and hopefully a few clay targets.

Shooting Saturday?? RESULTS
Hey deltaduck and any of the guys or gals that read this. My daughter was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago this April. She is doing great and went to St. Jude for treatments. They put every child on the
Make A Wish List that recieves treatments there. Make A Wish is a great thing and alot of people dont know how much they do for the kids. So if any of you can go to this I can tell you that the money goes for what it ment for. I can personally tell you that the money that is taken up is for a good cause. I didnt realize how much they do for the kids until my daughter went through the treatment at St Judes. Ronald McDonald house St Jude, Target house are all connected with one another. They take care of kids from all over the world. If you live over 300 miles away from the hospital they will pay for the airfare to fly any kid and their parents to Memphis @ no charge. They never bill anyone that recieves treatment or has to stay @one of the houses while the kids are getting treatments. Danny Thomas was a great man and deserves every award that he has been given over the years and in his life. They operate soley on donations made to them. They will use whatever insurance you have and what it doesnt pay they pick up the rest. Even if you have no insurance they will not turn away a child or ever bill you for anything. They have a movie in the pavillion that tells you about the hospital and by the year 2005 it will cost about a million dollars a day to run it. It is sad to have too see so many children have too go through what they have to endure. Some kids have been there for 2 or 3 years and arent allowed to leave the hospital, some of them never will leave it. I didnt realize that kids could be born with cancer until I had too take my daughter up there . I cant even begin to tell you what pain or how you will feel, to have cancer and your childs name used in the same sentence. I dont think anyone can until it happens to them.
St Jude is a research hospital also. The kind of cancer my daughter had was non- Hodkins lypnoma. She had a lump come up on her neck on Wednesday, I saw it on Thursday, went to the local doc on Friday was sent to Tupelo the same day, he did a biopsy on Monday and we were told it was positive for cancer. I told the doctor in Tupelo that I wanted the 3 top places to go to in the U.S. without even looking up he told me that's easy ST JUDE,ST JUDE,and ST JUDE. He told me that if I lived in Florida I would be sent there or if I live in Arizona thats where we would go. That how quickly your life can change. In 1962 the rate on survival from this was 50% now its 94% curable thanks in a very big part to St Jude. I can never repay what they have done for me and given to me in my daughters life.
I hope non of you that read this or your family has to go through what mine has. I just wanted to let you know that any money You send or donate to St. Jude, Ronald McDonald,Target House and Make A Wish goes for what it is ment for.I can tell you first hand all about it.
Danny Thomas said " It is not right for a child to die in the Dawn of Life."
I hope that the next time you see one of these places asking for donations you will drop a quarter, a dollar or any spare change you have in the jug. Cancer knows no age, religon, race, or culture and it affects all the same....... Thanks Mike

Xpress, We have very few geese.
MDH, That was a great testimonial, You don't know about everything that goes on until you are put in that situation. I am glad to hear everything is great with your Baby Girl.
GulfCoast, Sorry to hear you are not going to shoot. I feel sure you can go ahead and send a $100 donation.
I would like to have a meeting for the club that weekend you are going to be down. I will be in touch.

The Make-A-Wish tournament was great. I would like to personally thank Scott Conlee, Bill Daniels and the Willows staff for putting on such a wonderful event for a wonderful cause.
Had about 55 shooters, HOA was Larry Glass with a 94. HOA runner up was Dr Plaxco with a 92.

Could you post the address of the St.Jude hospital or where a person can send a donation? Or is it on the net?

I was very please with my score of a 89, since I had not shot a clay target since the DU shoot last Oct. I shot a round of make-a-break to warm up on before the tournament and only broke about 10 out of 25.
The scores were 94, 92, 90,90,90 then my 89.
The Willows is having the 2002 Grand Open March 16, I would like to encourge all of ya'll to come shoot the tournament. You don't have to be a pro like GulfCoast to shoot in the tournament. The hunter class will have shooters that just love to come out and shoot.
