Rebelyelp speaks the truth and knows what he is talking about.
Powe is much, much closer to qualifying than anyone would have ever dreamed he could be back during the pre-signing day period. The only thing the coaching staff has done to help is to inform him of what he needs to do and to motivate him to do it. But, as Rebelyelp stated, he still has a lot of work to do this summer to be a full qualifier and enter UM this fall. He is short a couple of points on his ACT and needs some work on his core classes. Being a full qualifier by the end of the summer is still likely a long shot, but not impossible.
The good news (for UM fans that is) is that even if Powe falls a little short in being a full qualifier, he will likely improve his situation enough to get into Hargrave, as opposed to having to go the JUCO route. IF he goes to Hargrave, and makes his grades to become a full qualifier, he COULD be eligible to enter UM the spring semester of next year '06, participate in spring drills, and be ready to go for the '06 season, retaining 4 years of eligibility.
Powe is good enough that our coaches, fans, etc. are willing to wait on him, whenever he arrives on the UM campus eligible to play. He is a man-child who has mucho star potential.

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.
