I got about 2 dozen dekes left to get out of duck holes. I've got every shape, brand name except Herters decoy you can get. I thought the flambeau best buy was going to be okay, but the paint is coming off them. I've sorted over 75 dozen dekes the best deke I have is the $100 dozen G & H 18" long wt keel.
It is worth the money in the long run to buy those G & H 18" dekes. It will cause you to pull your gun on a buddy that is fixing to shoot a cripple in the dekes, I will not buy another deke even if carrylite, or Flam drop the price to $20 dozen.

G & H rule!!!!
last year I bought some cheapies on sales out of Herters (not Herters brand) and they peeled after one season. Should have bought G&H...won't make that mistake again.
G & H rule!!!!
I always have G&H decoys and tungsten shells on my Christmas/Birthday/Aniversery lists. I tend to like the magnum size with the movable heads. The paint on the cheapies will peel like a bad surnburn if you treat 'em like you can a G&H.
G & H rule!!!!
The new Flambeaus do really peel badly. I haven't bought any decoys since 1996, but I have found a few drifters over the years. I like the shape of the new Flambeaus, but the paint is definetly inferior.
I don't understand what came over Flambeau. They had an excellent product and then changed, I guess to keep the price down. Too bad when your product quality and eventually customer loyalty is sacrificed to pince a penny.
Yeah, those G&H's are really good looking dekes, but kinda pricey. I have been hunting my Flambeaus for 6 years without a repaint. I guess I have taken better care of them than most. At least twice a year I will scrub them with a brush, allow to dry and then spray Tire Shine on the heads of the drakes. More often if I am hunting in muddy conditions.
Before putting them away for the "off season", I give them another scrubbing.
I always chuckle when I hear others talk about how they only use G&H decoys, because I have killed hundreds of ducks over my Flambeaus. Hunted with a fella this year that set up his G&H's on one side of the hole, and I put out my Flambeaus on my side. For some reason, I got all the shots that day. Go figure. G & H rule!!!!
Got a buddy of mine that I hunt with in AR, who has about 5 or 6 dozen G&H's. He said they are about 5 seasons old now, yet they still look brand new. His trick is that he scrubs them clean and then Armor All's them at the beginning of each season.
They look brand new. These decoy's are definitely worth the money.

Yeah, I don't understand what came over Flambeau......we hunted over some o' the new aqua keel style......'wouldn't move in a 20 MPH wind and it took about 8" o' water to get'em to sit-up, straight. Ducks went to the part of the field that had 4" or less where we were. The old style would move in 3" of water and do figure-8's in a 10 MPH wind.
