Hanoi Jane- Must Read

Postby motherducker » Mon May 30, 2005 10:43 pm

A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED
KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA

This is for all the kids born in the 70's who do
not remember, and didn't have to bear the
burden that our fathers, mothers and older
brothers and sisters had to bear.

Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the
"100 Women of the Century."

Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still
countless others have never known how Ms.
Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country,
but specific men who served and sacrificed
during Vietnam.

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.

The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF
Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison
the "Hanoi Hilton."

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell,
cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was
ordered to describe for a visiting American
"Peace Activist" the "lenient and humane
treatment" he'd received.

He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was
dragged away.
During the subsequent beating, he fell forward
on to the camp Commandant's feet, which
sent that officer berserk.

In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from
double vision (which permanently ended his
flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied
application of a wooden baton.

>From 1963-65, Col Larry Carrigan was in the
47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the
"Hanoi Hilton",,, the first three of which his
family only knew he was "missing in action".
His wife lived on faith that he was still alive.
His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and
clothed routine in preparation for a
"peace delegation" visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan to
get word to the world that they were alive
and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny
piece of paper, with his Social Security Number
on it, in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a
cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each
man's hand and asking little encouraging
snippets like: "Aren't you sorry you bombed
babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane
treatment from your benevolent captors?"
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each
palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat. At the
end of the line and once the camera stopped
rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs,
she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper.

Three men died from the subsequent beatings.
Colonel Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason we
know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor
in Vietnam, and was captured by the North
Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in
1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one
year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year
in a "black box" in Hanoi.
My North Vietnamese captors deliberately
poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a
nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South
Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the
Cambodian border.
At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs.
(My normal weight is 170 lbs.)

We were Jane Fonda's "war criminals."

When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by
the camp communist political officer if I would
be willing to meet with her.

I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real
treatment we POWs received... and how
different it was from the treatment purported by
the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as
"humane and lenient."

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky
floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched
with a large steel weights placed on my hands,
and beaten with a bamboo cane.

I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda
soon after I was released. I asked her
if she would be willing to debate me on TV.
She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exemplify
someone who should be honored as part
of "100 Years of Great Women."
Lest we forget..." 100 Years of Great Women"
should never include a traitor whose hands are
covered with the blood of so many patriots.

There are few things I have strong visceral
reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in
blatant treason, is one of them.
Please take the time to forward to as many
people as you possibly can.
It will eventually end up on her computer and
she needs to know that we will never forget.

For a long time, I held the hardest of grudges against Jane Fonda. This woman was the fantasy of a 17 year old high schooler who saw her in "Barbarella" then had the heartbreak of having her do her thing in Hanoi. I hated her for a long time.

I had the fortune to meet her here in Atlanta about two years ago while we both were in attendance at a leadership conference. We were seated together at dinner. I am glad that I had the good manners to withhold a comment, but she actually brought it up as someone was talking about regretting something. Her comment still rings in my head. She said she had two great regrets in her life. One was having a bad family relationship with her father and brother for so long...she still doesn't think her father knew how much she loved him. The other was the Hanoi thing. She recounted how she allowed herseld to be drawn into the whole antiwar thing and was just stupid. I watched as tears rolled down her cheeks and she told how she had met men who served in Vietnam and who just hated her for what she did. She also said that she wished she could go back and undo the hurt she caused so many in her stupidity.

I know she's an actress, but if she was acting that night, she is better than I ever thought she was! She also said that the only thing that has kept her sane is her faith. She had just a year or so earlier divorced Ted Turner. I later learned that it was over her growing faith. He does not believe in God, and it caused a huge rift in their relationship.

I have let go of the hate for what she did. I am giving her the benefit of believing that all of us have done things we wish we had not and that each of us can be blessed with forgiveness through faith. I will never forget the pain she caused, but I can forgive her and let it go. I do know that she continues to share her faith and testimony here in the Metro Atlanta area and attends Peachtree Road Methodist Church pretty regularly. So, I guess I'm going to let someone else judge her. I don't have time to hate her anymore!

Thanks for the first person testimony! I have heard her say these things on TV lately. I still find it hard to forgive her actions in Hanoi. I guess we are a forgiving people when folks admit that they were wrong. America forgave Pres. Bush his drug use and drinking and elected him to the highest office in the land. If she has grown in faith in god, which she must not have had during her "Hanoi" days, then i appulade her. It will take time for total forgivness!

Old news. She was named "100 greatest women" by ABC in 1999. Some of the stuff pasted is true; some not.

I will always wonder if she is sorry for what she did, or sorry for the reaction it caused. I wonder if she would still be apologizing if not for the undying contempt for her that so many express?

I don't care how sorry you are now. Only a stupid, brainless, absolute ignorant, turtle minded, puff of donky fart, jar head would allow herself to go to N vietnam and protest the war. I can understand a slip of the tounge or bad publicity here in teh states but to travel to a foreign country that we are at war with is unexcuseable. Preaching at church and crying at dinner dont cut it.
I'm glad crow had a good experience. Seems like she could do more if she was truly so sorry. Peachtreeh Church doesn't sound like a tought crowd. Try testifing at the local VFW.

I cannot forget nor forgive that crazy excuse for a woman. My Uncle Claude Clower from Yazoo City was shot down in North Viet Nam in '67 and spent 5+years in hell. He said he would do it all again if need be. She made a choice as an American that would have gotten her hung for treason in other wars, she can live with it, sorry just don't get it!!!. I also pity the bleeding hearts that fall into her game. 8)
