as Mississippi's top baseball player. The award is decided by Major League scouts and college coaches in Mississippi.

Just another example of the Ole Miss conspiracy  Robert Khayat rigged the voting.

they couldn't help it that there weren't enough other people in the state good enough..... personally, wouldn't it hurt em ?? i mean, if some of the judges were partial to Ole Miss, theoretically their votes would split b/w the 2 players, thus, leaving the larger # of votes to one of the other candidates.... unless of course, pettway was more deserving....idk, let's see, leads the SEC in batting avg., tied for 3rd in HR.s, 3rd in RBI's, one of the higher on base percentages, highest slugging percentage, etc etc etc.... i guess Corley shoulda won huh ?

I just dont understand why any State player would be among the finalist. I was reading something a couple of weeks ago where a player from Alcorn $#!+ something like .470 with b/w 40 and 50 stolen bases. He should have gotten some credit.

Looked it up .462 batting average with 42 stolen bases. They only played 38 games and against lesser competition. But still that is a pretty good feat. Enough in my eyes to be recognized with the best 4 players from mississippi.
