anyone have any knowledge about these skeet throwers? seen one on a show this morn and it looked interesting... got the half peepee and is easy to use... singles to 80 yds. and doubles to 50yds. angles down for rabbit... seen em i cabelas starting around a 100 bucks...? i need to smell some powder....

Judge, I saw the same show this A.M. Looked like a pretty versitile thrower. Who was the manufacturer? I saw the one in Cabelas that looked like it swiveled the same way. I have never shot clays-skeet and the like but am going next weekend. I found the instructor on that show to be pretty informative and helpful. I have been trying to see how those techniques feel here in the house with the 390. Pretty good free lesson.

I like the way he split his fingers on the fore-arm and the way he made it look so easy to lift-sight- and shoot.... will be trying the split finger style tommorrow..... may like it-may not.... hey we need DeltaDuck to give us some shootin lessons... he knows his business... seen him in the Commercial Appeal.... at my age i think i know it all {senile} and at one time could shoot circles around the best on this board... but hey, i know i am slippin and i want to spend more time watchin powder fly.... AND AGE HAS NOTHIN TO DO WITH IT....haha.... just want to give the young whipper snappers something to judge by..... i'm going to start on a shootin range this next week... will start with something simple... any one who wants to help,,,, just join in.....

Judge, just a little friendly help. If you want to by a manual trap. Buy a Lincoln. The Lincoln "falcon" is the finest manual trap that I have ever used. I have one now that mounts to your receiver hitch. I've worn out most every manual trap made and it's hands down...LINCOLN....

Model 12 is right on track about the Lincoln traps. Of the three models at our club (Lincoln, Ibis and Universal) the trap boys like the Lincolns the best and they are the easiest to work on.
In any case, try to go with a "3/4 peepee machine". This is the type that rotates through 270 degrees when it throws a target and then it only has to be pulled the last 90 degrees to re-cock it.

Lincoln makes the best manual traps. If you are serious about a good "home" course, most guys mount a remote controlled small automatic trap with a remote control on a trailer they pull behind a 4 wheeler, and pull it from station to station. Does away with the need for additional trappers, but you can only run 1 group.

judge we bought one of the double do all traps for the club its ok but i am not that impressed we also have a hand thrower that works well [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]
