...It's finally over.

The season of anticipations and disappointments.

Even though it was a lack-luster duck season, I enjoyed it. I shared many quailty hours in the blind with friends and family, and even bagged an occasional duck or two. I feel like I have learned a lot about the sport of hunting these last couple of months. This year will make me appreciate duck seasons past, and duck seasons to come.

At least now I can devote more of my time to school (oh boy), and even get to sleep in next Saturday (that'll be the first time since November)!

I am glad it is over. Duck season is a lot like Christmas. If it happened everyday, it wouldn't be as special!

So, here's to next season...

I can't remember how many times I told my wife or buddies as I was leaving, "maybe today will be the day they get here." Where I was hunting it never really happened. I had a few "good" hunts, but never had the ducks..Overall it was a crappy season as far as #'s killed, but it was still fun..There's nothing like walking through mud and water in 70 degree weather. I thought my waders had leaked I was so hot..That was last Wednesday or Thursday. Even though it was a pain in the butt and we didn't kill much, it beat the hell out of being at work..Can't wait until next year. I'm already planning w/ softcall, wildfowler, feed call and some others about an out of state hunt for next year, can't wait! I just hope it get's cold so the bass won't start biting, seeing my wife will not let me out of the house for a month or so..

I wish I had 60 more days, no matter how bad I never want to see it end.
