I have a 17ft Bass Tracker that I plan on converting to a Duck Boat for next season. It is an aluminum boat with decks on the front and the back (W/pedistal seats). Has a 50hp Mercury motor. I plan to paint the boat and put a pop-up blind or something on it as well. Does anyone have any ideas.(Inexpensive ideas)
Thanksnull

I painted mine with that Krylon Ultra-Flat camo paint. Freehanded it. Turned out real nice, it disappears just about everywhere--timber, marsh grass.etc.
I also built my own pop-up blind, but I found better succes with good camo and no blind. My blind is too much to write here but it only costs around $50. email me your address and I'll draw it out for ya. Anybody who wants to, do the same.

I'd use spray paint, it sticks much better. You'll be much happier.

I have a 16 foot bass tracker myself. I have wanted to put an Avery blind on it but haven't been able to come up with the money. I was going to Camoclad the sides but someone talked me out of it. He said I will ruin the value of the boat if I camo it. After thinking about it, he was right. It would be great for a duck hunter if it was camo, but how many duck hunters are going to go looking for a camo Bass Tracker? I bought a 12 by 20 Mossy Oak Breakup Tarp that I use to cover the boat up. Works pretty well and cost 40 bucks.

Guys -
Here is a link to a pretty good looking pop-up blind. You'll have to buy the material or fast grass to cover it though.

I have a 17 ft also, and I got a large cover made for it. I have been hunting out of it for years with that big cover. I second the motion on paint ruining the value of it. Just get a large cover, don't need a pop up blind. If you really need one start with some PVC and get creative. You can find that camo/rubber netting stuff at Hasslehoff's in Jackson on Hwy 51. At least you have a few months to decide.
