Somebody pleeeeaase 'splain this to me!

I am all the time hearing about survey and duck numbers and counts. It is absolutely impossible to get anywhere near a close to accurate account of duck numbers. Please tell me how they go about checking or counting numbers. This would be hard enough, not to mention guessing hatch numbers. I know of holes that can hold 2 or 3 thousand ducks and would be impossible to see or find even from a plane. Someone please shed some light.

THEY SIMPLY GUESS.

NEXT YEARS NUMBERS WILL BE LOWER AS FAR AS NESTING ADULTS, BUT THE HATCH WILL BE TREMENDUS. BY SAYING THIS FOR 2002-2003 THEY WILL COVER THEIR BUTTS FOR THIS PAST SEASON AND HELP THE MANUF. AND SPORTING GOODS INDUSTRY TRY TO REBOUND FOR NEXT YEAR, SINCE THERE IS SO MUCH INVENTORY NOT SOLD.

WAIT AND SEE.....BET YA A DOLLAR ON THIS ONE.

if they do a duck and goose survey at the Du headquarters in Memphis then we will see the best year ever...haha... just watched a show where the fields off Germantown Prkwy was covered with waterfowl... one old goose was sittin a nest of golf balls... i hate a duck hunter who never gets off the sidewalk.... looks good from the media side of it.... kinda pisses me off...
