Postby Coach » Tue Mar 29, 2005 1:49 pm

Did anybody else notice that the warm weekend had the snakes out?? I bet we killed 8 or 10 huge cottonmouths while bream fishing... They all were 6 to 8 feet out of the water... We didn't get to close for sure.....

You fraidy cats. I picked up one yesterday out of the gravel road and put him in the grass. I'm not too good at snake I.D. but it was either a queen snake or a racer.

I brought a speckled king snake home last summer and showed it to my little girl, then turned him loose in a brush pile near the house. Did you know king snakes are immune to venom from poisonous snakes? They regularly eat rattlers and cottonmouths.

Snakes are great for rodent control. Check this site for the snakes we have in MS: http://www.interaktv.com/MS/MSReptiles.html

I'm with wingman, I like em! :D :D :D

But don't come within 100 yards of widowmaker with no snake or you will hear him squeal like a girl, then cry like a sissy!
