Question for you Beretta fans

Postby deltaduxs » Tue Jan 22, 2002 4:49 pm

I have read alot of people prasing there Berettas on here and have a question. Does it come in a 3.5? I have a Beretta A390 Sporting Clays that my Father gave me and wouldnt dream of taking it duck hunting because of what it means to me, but if they made one in a 3.5 I would be very interested in getting another. Also, Nobody on here has said a word about Brownings I am crazy about my Gold Hunter.

Beretta came out with a 3.5" gun this year, the Extrema.

There are 3 Browning golds in my safe, one 3.5" gun, and 2 tricked out sporting clays guns with 30" tubes. I like the guns, mostly because they come very close to my custom stock dimensions. Why pay for a custom stock on a 390 when Browning will sell me the same stock off the rack??? There have been no jamming problems with any of the 3 Golds that I have, other than with PMC shells, which they all hate. All that said, I wish I could put the Browning stocks on a Beretta 390, but you take what you can get. I would not trade my 3.5" Browning Gold for any SBE on this planet.
Aloha.

Ditto to the comments on the Browning Gold Hunter. Mine has performed flawlessly. The only problem I have ever had is when my buddy pulled the magazine cut-off lever without me knowing. With freinds like that...you know the rest.

Dr. that is almost as bad as someone unloading your gun for you while your unloading your bladder.

If you are serious about buying a new gun then you wont be disappointed with Beretta's new Xtrema. I've had one for nearly the whole season and have yet to have the first problem. The gun shoots like a dream, and is 100 times the gun a SBE is for about $200 less. This season was kinda slow so I cant say it wont ever mess up, but I shot a even case of 3.5" Kents this season without even a hint of a problem. Hunt with a buddy who is selling his SBE to get one for next year. This past weekend was the first time we really had the ducks so I experimented a little. A young boy hunts with us who b'cause of recoil uses 2 3/4" Xperts I tried mixing his short shells with my 3.5" in every combination possible to induce a malfunction and could not. All that said I love my new gun!

My wife bought me a 3.5" Browning Gold Auto. I dont know if it will kill ducks or not, only thing I have used it for is to break ice to get to my "secret" hole that was completely froze over. Good news is there was allready someone else there setting up shop. So I get to head back to the truck.
