Praise for BGB

Postby Blackduck » Tue Jan 22, 2002 8:41 pm

For over a year I've had a chapped booty at BGB and myself. I lost the insert to a acrylic insert in a slough last year and despite trying to contact BGB by phone and Email I had zero success. Today while taking a nap on the couch Mike Kellar himself called me. I'd left my number about two weeks ago with his answering machine. We talked shop for a while and he apoligized for being slow to return my call. He'd been in Ark trying to shoot ducks. Anyway we worked out a good deal and overall I'm pleased. So now I have to eat crow and take back all of those simple minded things I said about BGB. Hell none of this would have happed if I'd secured both barrel and insert on my lanyard.

I love the sound that my Bourbon and Water call makes, but the reed sticks like hot grits on Al Green. I sent an email to the company and they said that for $40 they would fix it. No thanks. For what the call costs, they should fix that problem for free. Just my opinion.

We'll see how much he charges me for the new insert. You are right about the cost and fixing it for free. Certainly less than $40. If you've ever seen how these calls are made you'd be surprised. It isn't exactaly labor intensive. Computer programed lathe and some nice bits.
