cracking hull
anybody here ever had to get an aluminum hull repaired. i got a 17' tracker that has a few small cracks around some rivets on the bottom. one of them is big enough that it has started taking in water. around the memphis area.

Try using some silicon on both sides until you can get it fixed. We had a jon boat that had some cracks in it, and used a piece of thin aluminum and silconed a piece on both sides of the crack then used a pop rivet gun to hold together. Dont know if i would use a pop rivet gun on your tracker , but some silicon would help keep most of the water out till you found someone that does good work.
I had a small crack recently repaired at Smith Marine in Ridgeland. Haven't had any problems since but have not used the boat much. An aluminum boat dealer can do it or you might try someone who works on radiators as they weld aluminum all the time

thanks guys. there is a black woman who i use to see at the boat shows in memphis. she has a business(bass annie) of this nature, cosmetic boat repairs and welding and all that. she said she could do it for about 600$, the majority of that being the laabor to pull out all the decking to get to the foam underneath before they can weld it. would take her about a week. now that is alot of money and i am capable of pulling out all the decking myself and then getting someone to weld it. but i cant get it done in a week. maybe two or three with work and all. that is my problem. bad time of the year to have my boat down.

Mississippi,
I have found that a lot of radiator repair shops in my area also do aluminum boat repair. I am not sure that that's that case in the Memphis area but it couldn't hurt to call and check around.
