They are the prettiest duck in the sky, in my opinion. Are you going to make a taxidermist happy? I did with my first pintail back in 1978 - it brings back some good memories...

I ate them both.. ..taste good. Thanks for the picture Mag it turned out nice. After sitting in the pit for 3.5 hours we only saw one group of 3 ducks that day.Got 2 out of the 3. I will admit I am the hen killer. Could be some deep head thing having 4 HENS at home. Me and the dog being the only roosters....
That was a nice ending to a not so good morning.

Congrats Magnum!
I got my first Bull Pintail with Delta Duck in the #8 hole right before Christmas. You were there that morning but we didn't get to meet.

My Pintail is with the taxidermist as we speak.

Beautiful birds! Do any of you boys and girls remember when sprigs were a dime and you could get a dollars worth on a hunt? The rice fields of southwest La. and the mouth of the big river were full of sprigs. The mouth of the river still is. Sometimes there are too many and you can not hardly see any other birds. They are something! Jack

Shoot them sprigs on their first pass!

PS. As one of our members says "them ducks are wary"

Bill- I went Sat. and Sun. Saturday we got 6 (3 Greenheads and 3 gadwall) and Sunday we got skunked. We saw lots of birds both days, but they were all flying north and they knew excactly where they were going. I don't think anyone else has killed any lately. Only one weekend left!

Magnum you should have brought them birds to me so I could get 'em on the wall for you. Sounds like your dad had pretty good time last Thursday and Friday.

MSDAWG-
I would have brought him to you, but I was at school and it would have been a hassle to keep him in my "little brown fridge" until that following weekend. And plus I don't think my roomate would have liked a dead duck next to his frozen foods!!! I think I am going to blow up that picture and frame it. A 2-demensional mount!
