Ban SWD in the Mississippi Flyway?
Arkansas to lead a ban on SWD
Rumor has it that Arkansas will take the lead on banning Spinning Wing Decoys at the Mississippi Flyway meeting this summer in Mississippi.
Your Thoughts?

That sounds like a winner to me. But leave one hen for those OOPS moments.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

O.K., you get one OOPS a year! I know it happens.
Bullet and myself were hunting this January when we decoyed a group of about 10 pintails. They got in the deeks, we threw up, and each dropped a bird. The problem was I missed the bird I was aiming at and coldcocked myself a hen!
Still don't know how I hit her, I probably shouldn't tell this part, but she was a good 4 foot to the left of the bull I was aiming at!
Anyway Bullet won't let me forget about it, and he won't screw up so I can have something on him.

I'm glad to see that 85% want to see tha ban take place! However, it must be flyway wide to be effective!
GH22, it may take years to see population increases, but you should see many more young birds make it South in a hurry! I myself, am ready to shoot at a few more birds each year, that are not sooooooooo educated!

Hmmmmm...maybe a flambeau with a strobe light. Maybe Arkansas can go to muzzel loaders with a three decoy limit and require right hand shooter to shoot left handed and vis-verse. Maybe require boaters to not use their boat plug just to make it a little harder to stay out there. May be a little more paper work at the boat landing before launching. Muzzel required on all dogs at all times. More rules, more rules, more rules.... The men that want to kill ducks will kill ducks. The bitch and whine crew will bitch and whine. I hope they will let me keep my battery opperated bilge pump.
Band them all, so I can fill.....out my report paperwork and see where it was manufactured and when....
Kind of misspelled banned there on the poll----BUT seriously, does it matter now ?
My partner and I resisted buying a SWD until we were forced to have one, to even the odds with the surrouding hunters, who all of a sudden were waxing our b-tts after years and years of them watching us pounding them---and them pass shooting Woodies, Teal and Gadwalls.
Heck, we didn't even realize what was going on the first year. When we found out they had three SWD's, we figured out why they were killing ducks we used to kill and they weren't even calling (because they aren't very good callers anyway).
We thought they (SWD's) were illegal, or should have been, then. It was a way of bypassing learning anything, having to paying your dues, and made everybody a greaaaat duck hunter/and now only part-time skybuster. What happened to no mechanical devices ?
For those of you that don't know---- calling , working, listening to the wings right on top of your head--- and lighting large, large groups of mallards is a special thrill and what it is all about.
When you shoot 6 times and kill 8 mallards (and knock down 9) between 2 people--- on one bunch of ducks-- just before they hit the water ---now that is a large concentration of ducks.--Been in on that once or twice in my life. Just cut a swath thru 'em, the first shot.
My point is-------they ruined true duck hunting for a while----but that is over, somewhat. Like a bass and a certain color or type of bait that is hot for a short while-----somehow animals adapt and survive. I missed the "hovering right over my Mojo" phase of SWD I heard about so many times and now, we have had to turn off the SWD's and leave'em at home because I have definitely seen ducks abruptly pull an about-face at the sight of an SWD---now that everybody has them. But by the time they get to AR, they have seen many a spinning wing.
The damage was done.....So does it really matter now ? Like the bubble-gum colored, trick rigged plastic worm, the scum frog, or the little george, it must have come out in the animal survival newsletter or in their safety meetings warning them or they can talk to one another because SWD's are not too hot anymore. They are over, at least for a while. Or just my opinion anyway. But I vote to ban them worldwide.
