Now that's the way to do it!

Limit by 8:45 this morning. Strange, though. Raining pretty good when I motored in, light rain when I put out the dekes. After doin' the adjusting, I looked up and saw stars! I thought it was gonna be a clear morning, but before shooting time the clouds showed back up. I had several flocks land in the decoys and call before shootin' time. Must have been 30-40 at one time. 3 greenheads, one with flourescent legs
1 suzie ( I usually don't shoot them, but she landed in the dekes, saw me and took off tattling on me)
1 male woody
1 male green-wing

I got caught with my pants down (literally) when a pintail couple buzzed the decoys WELL within shooting distance. I was pretty pissed, never gotten one.

Taking my father for his first time tommorrow, I think it will be a good one. You guys be careful, happy huntin'

I hope you had good luck Judge.

JETDUCK, this was in MS, the northwest corner.

I returned Sunday to find a guy in my spot that I taught how to duck hunt, worked on his boat SEVERAL times for, gave him several items for his boat (spare tire, battery, camo boat seats), showed him how to break down his shotgun, and repaired and cleaned it several times for him. I even did a total camo paint job and carpet for his boat. This is a guy that I got into the car business, and he is making a really good living now (over $150K a year). Yes, this was on public land, and he got there before me, and treated me like a total stranger when I got there. Had my father not been with me, I would have made a real stink, but I didn't want Dad to see that. This is the reward for being a good friend. My father is moving up north, he is 64 and most likely will never hunt with me again. We never fired a shot, while my "friend" had a good day, it sounded like. Can you believe this? He knew that i was taking my father that day. I messed up when I told him the "short cut" to the place. This is the same guy that I took as a guest several times last year to an exclusive club in AR, I have pushed the boat in with him sitting in it to hunt this spot, now he treats me this way. I hope somebody learns from my mistake.

Goose, I WAS the used car manager for Homer in Olive Branch, back in 1994. I'm out of it now and in commercial real estate.

Never take anyone to one of your good spots on public land that you would not trust to guard your wife and daughters chastity. Even then, think about it for at least a year before you do it. I cannot tell you how many spots I have seen ruined by someone taking a "buddy" and next thing you know, your "buddy" has all his "buddies" hunting the spot you developed. Live and learn.

I think you should mention the name of your former friends dealership so all of us can be sure and not buy a car from him.

This guy works at the Pontiac dealership on Covington Pike in Memphis.

I won't post the name so I won't be open to slander suit.

His name rhymes with "FEET SMELLY" hehehehe
