My primary duck gun is a Super-90. My back-up is a AL390. I switch back and forth sometimes. To be honest, I like one just about as much as the other. I do lean toward the S-90 because mine has a shorter BBL. I hunt out of a boat most of the time and the short (25") bbl is real handy. You can't go wrong with either one. Once you go Italian, you never go back....

Well for what its worth I'm on a tactical team here in Memphrica and last spring we got brand new Benelli M1 tactical shotguns. Its the same gun as the super 90 only it has a 17" barrel and holds 7 rounds. When we first got'em no-one on the team could go all 7 rounds w/out a hang. We shoot either 00buck or 1 oz. slugs (both 2 3/4"). Needless to say this would'nt work so a phone call to Benelli got a rep down here. He spent about a week tweaking guns and never did totally fix the problem. Wound up blaming the problem on the after-market forearm W/ built in light. Benelli wont take'em back b'cause of the forearm controversy they its the problem our gunsmith says it aint, and we cant go in a dark house without a light on our gun. So to make a already long story short they look real good as permanent fixtures in the racks in our cars. I would'nt buy a Benelli for $20 but thats just my opinion. BTW that aftermarket forearm works like a champ on Beretta's tactical gun!

HAD A SBE FOR 2 YEARS,HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE OUT OF IT. SENT IT BACK TO THE FACTORY 4 TIMES. GOT A BUDDY WITH A SUPER 90,AND HE'S NEVER HAD A MINUTES TROUBLE. MY ADVICE, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY 3 870'S, THEY WILL DO YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

COME ON DELTA DUCK,7000 ROUNDS? HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU GO ABOUT SHOOTING THAT MANY TIMES?

That is a shame. Would think they would make it right.
Ya'll be carefull!!! Those crackhead thugs have no regard for human life.

I for one am proud of the job ya'll do. It has to be tough for ya'll.
I would not walk up in one of those houses. I would have to start a small fire on the back corner, down wind and wait til they came out side.

Are Benelli and Beretta not made in the same plant in Italy or am I just totally wrong? (this is just what I was told) that there are sister companies.

I hunted with a 870 for 10yrs and it was lucky to get cleaned once a year, and it never jammed, I even dropped it in 4 foot of water before I every shot it and still no prob. this year I switched to my A-5 simpily because it has a 32" full choke and as wary as the ducks are this year I felt i needed something that would reach out and touch them. It jammed 4 times and got cleaned twice. Today I got the A390 I hope it is as good as ya'll are saying.

They are seperate companies. Beretta recently purchased a controlling interest in Benelli and Franchi, and purchased a big stake of Perrazi several years ago.

Thanks for the kind words DeltaDuck, it may seem like a crazy job for some but I would nottrade it for anything in the world (cept duck huntin' full time!). The Benelli rep that came down to help put forth a honest effort but that was as far as it went!
