I saw yor name in the 2001 AHM publication as part of the Working Group. Good to see a MS boy in the group. Keep up the good work and keep us informed.

ole SB is a heck of a good fellow.... that comes from the dept. heads and co-workers with the G&F... he stays on top of these forums and tries to see what the hunters want and he will stay with the majority... we need to give a big hand for him...

Thanks for the kind words. I need to save these post, because they might not be as kind one day! Hehe! That AHM stuff is pretty indepth and complicated. I wish I knew it front and backwords, but that long mathmatical equation keeps one guessing. Now they are trying to bring in other species (pintail, wood duck, eastern mallards, great plains mallards) that only complicates things. I mainly just try to make sure that the 6 southern states of the MS Flyway get a fair shake in regards to waterfowl issues. That can be quite a job with the framework extension that MS, AL and TN enjoys. Harvest equitability, harvest allocation and fairness always comes up and must be defended.

I just got back from attending the summer meeting of the MS Flyway Council in KY. Don't expect any major changes this year. We will still have a 6 duck and 60 day season, 51 for MS, TN and AL. I'm expecting MS to go to Jan 31 with the most allowable days of hunting that should be in the hunter's favor. Nothing is official yet on the dates, but they should be soon.

Judge, you are correct that I watch this message board. I encourage you and everybody else to post their ideas, thoughts and opinions here. I get a lot of information from y'all.

Once again, thank y'all for the kind words. We (MDWFP) don't here them to often.
