Turkeys gobbled Sat. and the Rattlesnakes crawled

Postby hotty toddy » Mon Jan 14, 2002 11:45 am

This sure has been a wierd year. I heard a turkey gobble probably 15 times( it was not tame) in the greenville area and my "father in law" (girlfriends dad) actually had three gobbling for an hour in the far east of the state. In that same area two rattle snakes were killed the same morning. Just wondering if anyone else saw or heard of this kind of thing over the weekend.

If you've never heard a turkey gobble at a snow goose and a mallard you need to try. It is pretty cool.

I hunted on the Big Black West of Canton this weekend and I had 8 gobblers come out of a tree and five of them spoke most of the morning. On a clear cold morning, they will usually gobble once or twice. This weekend was an exception i guess?

HOTTY TODDY,
I have only made two hunts since I left oxford and I have not killed two many birds. I might be coming up their this weekend. Are you going to be around? Have you done any good in your neck of the wood/water?

I was on a hunt Friday afternoon in Macon, Mississippi where a man killed two Timber rattlers... I was surprised to see them out, but now I watch a little closer where I step, even when it's cool...
