lab trials

Well I have had pretty good luck with the web-site www.working-retriever.com. You can go to the calendar section of the web-site and they will show all the field trials posted as well as the hunt test. They will have both AKC and UKC for you to choose from.

lab trials

They have field trials at Kearney Park (off 49 North towards Yazoo City) at least twice a year - spring and fall. If you have never been to one, it might be worth it to watch before entering. The first time I took a dog to one, I did not realize they were using ducks in the p.m. retrieves that had been killed in the a.m., and retrieved a couple dozen times. That afternoon, my dog just spat out the mangled corpse and gave me a look like "what the hell is this?" I trained her next time on old ducks and she did fine at the subsequent trial. That was just my inexperience and could have been avoided if I would have watched a field trial first.

They are AKC Hunt TEST, Not Field Trials. WE welcome you to enter your dog or just come out and enjoy the event. If you would like more information Please email me or check for our listing at the Gun Dog store. We also list our events with the AKC.org web site. If you have any questions about what is expected from your dog at different levels please contact me via email. Thanks Big Lou

I agree with the other posters... i think you'd be much better served cking out a hunt test. AKC & HRC (hunting retriver club) both offer hunt tests in our area, as well as another organziation called NHARA that doesnt have any clubs nearby. HRC tests often simulate hunting secnarios better, but akc tests are fun as well. Ck out http://huntingretrieverclub.org/ for listings of events close to you. Dont know where you're located, but our club Southern Flight HRC is locted in hernando, and we've got a feb mock test/fun day set up, as well as a liscened hunt in april. Several other clubs in ms, that might be closer to you, and jackson has an akc club. travis

If a fellow was to have a lab that he thought would do good in a field trial, how would he go about finding info on a trial in his area? Does anyone have any expierence in lab trials?
