The season is nearly over and.........

Postby Dutch Dog » Sat Jan 12, 2002 5:36 pm

We finally managed to get 2 limits of mallards this morning (and there were 2 hunters)...I am NOT telling where though. We have gone this entire season thus far without getting a single persons' limit of ducks amongst the whole hunting party on any hunt. I fully enjoyed this morning and I am going back after them in the morning. It seemed like we were where they wanted to be....and the rest is history. Oh well, good luck to y'all in the morning.

I should say though that we didn't see too many ducks, but the ones we saw wanted in and we let em.

We will hunt you down like a rabbit, take your duck hole and live the good life for the remainder of the season. Hehe, I'm glad somebody is killing birds.

Good for you Dutch Dog... even with the Feeding rumours, they can't hold them all... glad some ducks flew your way... it don't take but one good hunt to enlighten the season... but beware of the pirates of Muddy Bottom... they will be stalking your hole.....haha....

Way to go Dutch Dog! All I got down here was wet. The ducks don't do too much in the rain. Maybe in the morning. One never knows what is in the future. Jack

Shoot them sprigs on their first pass!

well, I guess yesterday was a fluke of some sort. We got 10 birds this morning...including a huge black mallard drake. I already have a matched set hen/drake on the wall so he's not going on the wall. I talked to a buddy of mine this morning after hunting. He hunts around crowder and they got 7 limits of birds. He said they had to STOP shooting sprigs cause they had 7 already. Anyway, sounds like the birds are in that area for sure. If you have private land you can hunt on in that area that's where I would try to be. If I am not mistaken I think most if not all land around crowder is private.
