Anybody know the details of sundays accidental drowning of Dan Keith. He went to Southaven HS class of 81. All I know was he was Duck Hunting and fell out of the boat and never came up! Last I heard was they were still looking for him.
Keep his family in your prayers!

Dan was the left tackle on the offensive line with me in '81, and was a really good fella. I am pretty sure he still worked at Fed Ex, and was doing really well there. He was one of those guys that always had something good to say, never in a bad mood. He used to always kid me about stealing my girlfriend...........he will be missed.
This is from the Desoto Times:
Hernando hunter missing at Coahoma County lake
HERNANDO-Coahoma County officials were dragging a lake Monday in search of the body of a missing hunter from Hernando.
Sheriff Andrew Thompson said Dan Keith Jr., 38, apparently fell out of his boat on Ward Lake around 5:30 Sunday evening.
The sheriff said Keith, who had been deer hunting in a refuge near Sherard in southwest Coahoma County, was missing and presumed dead.
"We had a couple of witnesses who said they heard him holler but they didn't see anything," said Thompson. "We've decided we're going to drag the whole lake."
Members of the Coahoma County volunteer fire department helped Sheriff's deputies search for the body.
Local searchers were also called in to help with the search effort.
T.H. Walker, director of the DeSoto County Emergency Management Agency, said divers from the Sheriff's Department's Search and Rescue Squad were called in to aid in the effort.
"They will be down there as soon as we can get them there," Walker said Monday afternoon. "It's my understanding that Coahoma and Bolivar County search and rescue units are dragging the lake now."
Walker said divers from the DeSoto County unit will be able to search at night because they are trained to work in murky water without visual reference points.

Dan is a great fella. He and his wife Amber were college buddies of mine. They did not have any children.
Dan was not even hunting himself. He got in his boat to go help a buddy that had killed a deer. He was only about 50 yards from the ramp on his way back.
Please everyone have a special prayer for his family and friends and wife Amber.
Redhead and Capt. I hope your lifes were enriched as mine for having a friend like Dan and Amber.

Heard them talking about it this morning at Fedex. He did in fact work there still at the WTC on Bailey Station road in Collierville.

Three young hunters in the McIntyre Scatters almost met the same fate when their boat capsized two hours before daylight Tuesday morning. My hunting partner and I kept hearing people yelling for help. When we got to where the accident took place, another hunting party had rescued them from the fridged water. Between us and the other rescue boat, all three made it to the landing before hypothermia set in. Those guys were very lucky that someone was in hearing distance.
