Father-In-Law Drivers License

Postby jacksbuddy » Tue Jul 16, 2024 10:03 am

Okay, some of you may recall how my FIL got his Mississippi DL lo those many moons ago.

When he first came to this country, he wanted to get a drivers license so that he could go more places and do more things than he could by waiting around for us. The great State of Mississippi lets you take the written test in your native language, so he took the test in Chinese. After passing that exam with flying colors, he wanted to try for a license and take the driving portion of the test. So, he provided the Highway Patrol testing people with his valid passport from China, his valid Green Card from the good ol' US of A, and his current and valid drivers license from the Peoples Republic of China. When our LEOs saw the Chinese DL, they told him that if he could drive in Beijing, then he can certainly drive in Mississippi. So they gave him his drivers license. And he had had a spotless driving record ever since.

Now, fast forward four (4) years, get the world past COVID, open China back up so that he is allowed to come back here to the US, and we get him back here with a new and valid Green Card. Now, he needs to renew his Mississippi Drivers License. Thankfully, since the cutoff for simply renewing an expired license is 5 years, he does not have to go through the red tape of retaking the tests associated with getting a renewed license.

So, we carry him down to the Headquarters, with all of his required documentation - expired DL, current and valid Passport, current and valid Green Card, and all accurately completed forms - to get his new picture and his brand new Mississippi Drivers License, which is issued promptly........with the WRONG address.

I sure hope this isn't too big of an issue to get this corrected. He needs it for his hunting and fishing license.

This guy deserves a beer!

Fun!
I'd almost let it go. They messed up, and he'll be going back soon (I assume).

Oh no. He is here for the duration. Besides, he is going to save us a bundle on Daycare expenses.

BTW, 2 days after arriving, and getting his rest back to speed, he made the declaration that the kitchen is his. And my wife said, "Okay, thanks."

Viewing this on my iPhone and MacBook and I'm getting some weird boxes in the display. Am I doing something wrong?

This is an example of what I’m talking about.

it looks like that may have posted correctly. I kind of remember the last version of this website wouldn’t allow this or else outside wasn’t high speed enough to know how to post photos from an external source.

Does anyone know how to correct the view?

Figured since it was just a few long timers were here nobody would get their tail feathers in a tizzy if I just ask the question here which has nothing to do with this topic.

I’m bad about interrupting like that.

Speaking about the topic congratulations on your pay raise from savings in the child at daycare department. Save it wisely.

It’s all out of whack for me too.
Some post I can view and some I can’t.
