I thought it was just youth season. I’m taking my 3-yr old this afternoon.

i’d give it another day to marinate...until, say, 2:30ish Sunday afternoon. I renewed mine, yesterday, too!

Ha

We didn’t have any mini dove either. And not many any dove.

But it was good to get out though. The shade was nice.

We had a good many Sunday afternoon, but only a few of the ones that didn’t die then elected not to show up Monday. Maybe they took Labor Day off!
Seems like most of them are mini this time of year.
I wish they were all the size of the ring neck I killed!

It was slow for us but we made up for it by drinking beer.

Did try something new with the birds though. Plucked them and cooked them whole stuffed with breakfast sausage. Pretty dang good.

That looks like fun!! Mini’s.

The dove, not the beer.

Are there still pay hunts? Back when the Clarion Ledger used to be a newspaper, there would be several pay hunts listed in the classified ads. Bob Cleaveland used to give them some space on his Sunday Outdoor’s page too. I had a guy call the office asking where he could find a pay hunt is what got me to thinking about it.

I wasn’t really looking for a pay but more of are they still out there? With me not being a social media person and the paper not being what it used to be I don’t know how I would find a pay hunt even if I really wanted to.
