Democratic thoughts
Re: Democratic thoughts
I know what you mean David and before turning on the podcast I had my mind made up, but some of the guys ideas really made you think.
Re: Democratic thoughts
The first thing i think of when I hear any plan of his is "Where it the money coming from?"JLT wrote:I know what you mean David and before turning on the podcast I had my mind made up, but some of the guys ideas really made you think.
And the answer is always us. We the people have to pay for his plans. One way or another. They tax the rich, then the products we buy go up in price. We pay for it. And I am tired of paying for it.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

Re: Democratic thoughts
You’d be surprised how many really intelligent people think the .gov has an infinite supply of money that they dole out to the most worth causes. And that’s just the ignorant, dependent populace that the .gov wants to govern.

I've almost let that slip in conversation, but used 870 with a turkey choke and TSS #6's. Then I got to thinking we don't need them meddling with turkey chokes and shotguns.JLT wrote:I know.....I want to ask one of them if they have any idea of the damage an 870 pump with OO buckshot could do in a crowd

Teul.....he actually says where he will get the money from. I could never trust him, but the interview wasn’t what I expected.

Can you give us the rundown of where he thinks he’s getting the money from?JLT wrote:Teul.....he actually says where he will get the money from. I could never trust him, but the interview wasn’t what I expected.
It’s usually not even possible.
Speaking of Democrats, y’all have got to watch this video. Kind of gets to the heart of the real person.

Sounds like he’ll tax the heck out of billion dollar companies like AMZN. Sounds great, right? They have billions of dollars to spare. Nope. Consumers will pay those taxes with each Amazon purchase.Wildfowler wrote:Can you give us the rundown of where he thinks he’s getting the money from?JLT wrote:Teul.....he actually says where he will get the money from. Companies like Amazon that paid zero in taxes (which I have a hard time believing) and Wall Street transactions. Teul is correct in saying that it will eventually trickle down. I guess what I’m getting at here is it is easier to see how some folks can be drawn to Bernie after listening to him outside the debate platform. Listen for yourselves when you have 50 minutes of life to piss away.

Re: Democratic thoughts
I never understood why people have always been hung up on some corporation NOT paying taxes.
They pay their fair share of taxes, it just may not be a capitol gains or in some other catagory that the federal government can gobble up.
Big companies employ at $#!+ ton of people and generate a lot of cash flow for other entities by buying stuff, infrastructure, supplies, vehicles, fuel, tractors, paper, and on and on and on.
Small companies do it also. I use to have a small company that paid my salary and another person, i bought a lot of equipment to run the business, bought gas, paid fees,etc.................the business paid NO taxes, but i on the other hand paid taxes from my salary.
If i end up with money at the end of the year i upgraded equipment, expanded everywhere i could to keep from sending the government money. Its all legit, i just chose to pay the required tax in a different category that benefited me and my business.
If Amazon has $200 B at the end of the year i say put in new warehouses, buy new equipment, employ more people............spread that crap around.
Just my 2 cents and im NOT an accountant, lawyer, or person with average intelligence.

Re: Democratic thoughts
The simple reason for that thought is because it insults our sense of fairness, right or wrong. And the people who want to exploit this sense don't really have a clue either. Sure, they can tax the crap out of multinational corporations. However, these multinational corporations are going to transfer monies FROM areas of high taxation TO areas of low taxation. And even then, the taxes they do pay are just going to be passed on to the consumer in the form of higher costs. (Sort of takes the air right out of that '$15.00 per hour minimum wage' balloon, don't it?)novacaine wrote:I never understood why people have always been hung up on some corporation NOT paying taxes....
We see this every day. That Toyota Tundra pick-up you had your eye on wasn't made in Osaka, It was made in Texas. Why? Tax breaks. Overall lower cost of production. (shipping costs, raw materials costs, and the "Oh My Gawd" labor costs in a highly industrialized nation with restrictive and protectionist labor laws.) And a lot of other reasons that are purely economic in nature.
See? You ARE a person with, at least, "average intelligence."
Nobody owes you anything.
